Liam watched as Danielle turned back and let out another cold laugh. "What's the matter? Can't handle the truth?"
Danielle couldn't believe how much leeway she'd given Liam in the past—it was no wonder he now felt entitled to say whatever he pleased.
"Before you run your mouth, maybe figure out who's actually out of control here." Danielle's gaze was icy as she faced him. "Fine, you're accusing me of having some secret affair with Gian, claiming we're inseparable. Well then—who's making the accusation? Where's your evidence?"
Liam scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Anyone with half a brain can see there's something going on. You really need me to spell it out?"
"So that's a no—you've got nothing to back this up?"
Liam's expression darkened. "Women like you, always chasing after whoever looks best—nothing you do would surprise me."
Danielle let out a sharp, humorless laugh. "How many people have you slandered like this before?"
"I used to think you had some sense. CEO of Cloudpath, right? Yet you still talk without thinking. Is judging others through your own prejudices part of your charm?"
"Gian works at Blackwood Research Institute. If you start throwing mud at him and it blows up, are you ready to face the consequences?"
Liam faltered, his face growing even more sullen.
Danielle was nothing like the woman he remembered—she was sharper, more formidable.
She used to bend over backwards to please Alexander, acting polite and deferential to everyone in his circle, never picking a fight. But now, there was no reason to stay silent and swallow her anger.
Millie tried to intervene. "Alright, guys, we're all friends here. Can we not fight?"
Danielle shot Millie a frosty glance. "Birds of a feather, aren't you? And what exactly makes you any better?"
Gian stood quietly off to the side, watching Danielle with open admiration in his eyes.
This was the Danielle he remembered—strong, unafraid, unwilling to shrink herself for anyone.
"You—" Millie started, then faltered. "What did I ever do to you? Or is it that you can't stand me being close with Davidson?"
Liam snorted. "Guess she knows she's guilty. I figured she'd put up more of a fight."
Danielle walked away with Gian.
"You really let them have it back there," Gian said, studying her. "You used to be so calm when people tried to provoke you."
Danielle's brow furrowed slightly.
She could have brushed it all off, kept her cool. But this time, they'd dragged the people around her into it—they'd insulted Gian too.
"They shouldn't involve the people I care about. I don't want my problems becoming yours."
She meant every word.
Gian let out a quiet, almost amused sigh. "Come on, Danielle. It's just gossip. I'm not losing any sleep over it. Why let them get under your skin?"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
