His lips were tightly pursed, his little face scrunched up as if he’d just suffered the greatest injustice in the world.
Tears streaming, he clung to his father, sobbing out his complaints.
Alexander lowered his gaze slowly, glancing at Niki.
When Niki met those cold, steely eyes, she immediately looked down, not daring to meet his gaze.
“It wasn’t my fault,” Niki said. “He twisted everything around.”
Danielle interjected, “Let’s check the security footage.”
She didn’t want to cause a scene at her grandmother’s birthday celebration.
“Do we really need to review the security footage for a little squabble between kids?” someone scoffed. “Isn’t that making a mountain out of a molehill?”
Just then, Leanne walked in from outside, arms full of gifts.
Raffy’s face lit up the moment he spotted Leanne. He dashed over, latching onto her and nuzzling into her arms like an overgrown puppy.
Nathan stood at a distance, arms crossed, watching all of this unfold in silence, his expression unreadable.
After all, the two families had been close for generations. It was only natural for Leanne to show up with gifts for the matriarch’s birthday.
Leanne ruffled Raffy’s hair before looking up at Danielle and Niki. “Your daughter is blood-related to the Davidson family, so of course she should be here for Grandma’s birthday. But you—” she fixed Danielle with a pointed look, her voice loud enough to draw the attention of several guests, “—you’re already divorced. What are you doing here?”
The room stirred. Danielle’s position was… complicated. Most people hadn’t thought much of it; even after a divorce, some ties remained. Her presence at the birthday celebration had always seemed proper, even thoughtful—Danielle had spent much of her childhood around the old lady. Her visit was only natural, a gesture of respect.
But now, with Leanne and those who’d arrived with her stirring up trouble, the mood shifted. The looks thrown Danielle’s way grew curious, even suspicious, as if her presence suddenly needed justifying.
Gian and Kirsten arrived late, stepping into the room just as Leanne was in full, imperious swing.
“A guest is a guest—who made you the mouthpiece of the Davidson family?” Kirsten shot forward, pointing at Leanne. “Your daughter’s made a habit of breaking up marriages, and now you think you’re Alexander’s mother-in-law?”
Leanne’s face darkened.
Danielle’s phone buzzed in her hand—a message. She glanced at the screen.
Leanne glared at her. “Her background is questionable, and as her elder, I can say a few words about it, can’t I?”

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
