The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 575

Leanne’s words made even Jake, who’d just arrived, go rigid with anger. She was, in no uncertain terms, dragging the Davidson family’s name through the mud. If there was any scandal attached to Alexander, he would be caught in the crossfire.

Leanne’s voice was icy. “I never wanted to use that little bit of kindness as leverage, but your family has shown nothing but ingratitude. If people heard what you’ve done, anyone would say you’ve gone too far.”

Her face set like stone. “I only came here today to demand justice for my daughter. I’m not asking the Davidson family to break any laws, but even out of basic decency, you should at least visit her. She shouldn’t be left all alone like that.” Leanne turned to Alexander, her gaze sharp. “You can’t give her hope and then snatch it all away, leaving her in utter despair.”

Danielle crossed her arms, watching the drama unfold like it was a play staged just for her. Gian leaned in, whispering, “She’s desperate now—throwing accusations, trying to drag someone else down with her.”

“So, how do you think Alexander’s going to get out of this?”

Whispers spread through the room as everyone began to speculate.

Danielle surveyed the scene, unconvinced that Alexander was out of moves. A man like him—calculating, meticulous—would never let himself get cornered without a way out. Surely, he’d anticipated Leanne’s desperate gambit. If he hadn’t stopped her from crashing today’s birthday celebration, it could only mean he was prepared for whatever she might do.

Now, all eyes were on Alexander. The scandal overshadowed the entire party, even the matriarch’s birthday. Yet Alexander, standing at the center of attention, looked completely unbothered. He met Leanne’s glare, voice cool and detached. “What hope did I give her?”

Leanne let out a bitter laugh. “You made her believe you two were together. Why else would she go down this path? If you never cared for her, why lead her on?”

Alexander gave a short, cold laugh. “Lead her on? Really?” His tone was calm, his eyes unwavering. “I’ve done right by her, by you, and by the Fletcher family. No one can say otherwise.”

Leanne’s face twisted with fury, the skin around her eyes drawn tight and pale. A vein pulsed at her neck. Suddenly, she slammed her palm on the table, making the glasses rattle and spill their water. “I don’t know how you can say that. My daughter is suffering, and you’ve done nothing!”

Her outrage seemed to barely reach him. Alexander’s lips curled in a mocking smile as he replied, voice cold as steel, “She committed a serious crime. Am I supposed to go down with her?”

Leanne was at a loss for words. She could hardly believe how heartless he was—so warm when things were good, but now, as if they’d never shared anything at all.

“I’ve done more than enough for both of you,” Alexander said quietly, glancing sideways at Danielle.
