Even with SoarCorp on the verge of collapse, as long as it remains in her hands, it's still a company with a flawless structure. With a stable flow of capital, it could easily be revived.
Now, with SoarCorp teetering on the edge, Danielle's mother had made herself sick to the point of stomach bleeding from the stress.
And yet, at this very moment, Alexander was out celebrating with his team—their rival company, Intellectech, had just clinched another major contract.
The irony was almost unbearable.
All their private grievances had simply spilled over into the business world.
Danielle closed her laptop. "I need to step out for a bit."
—
She walked to the door of Alexander's hospital room.
Nash was standing guard outside. As soon as he saw Danielle approach, he moved to intercept her. "Ma'am—are you here to see Mr. Davidson?"
Danielle just gave Nash a silent, measured look.
He pressed his lips together, clearly aware of how much her attitude toward him—and toward Alexander—had changed.
Still, he said, "Ma'am, Mr. Davidson is resting. Miss Fletcher specifically asked that he not be disturbed."
"If it's urgent, please make it quick. Miss Fletcher will be back soon."
Danielle almost laughed at that. Nash acted like he was Millie's watchdog, making sure no stray women slipped in to see Alexander.
She was still Alexander's wife—at least on paper—and yet, she felt more like an unwelcome mistress sneaking around.
"Did Alexander say he wouldn't see me?"
Nash glanced away, lowering his gaze. "No, he didn't." But everyone knew Mr. Davidson always listened to Miss Fletcher these days, and Nash understood whose words mattered more now.
Still, he couldn't exactly block Danielle from entering.
Did he honestly not understand what was at stake? He was a veteran in the business world—no way he didn't see through it all. He was just pretending not to.
If he truly cared, would he really be in here eating celebration cake?
He was planning to climb to the top over SoarCorp's dead body.
"So your investment was just part of your strategy from the start, wasn't it?"
Sixty million dollars.
Why else would he have been so generous? He'd even used that investment to get Millie a spot at the Atwood family summit. At that industry event, he'd attended with Millie, introducing her to countless contacts and resources.
Anyone associated with Alexander was immediately trusted. With his backing, Millie had secured major investments and partnerships for Intellectech at that summit.
Alexander looked at Danielle. "Strategy?"

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
