The emotion in Alexander's eyes was impossible to read.
Danielle let out a short, derisive laugh.
You can never wake someone who's only pretending to sleep.
Now that he'd decided to play dumb, no matter how much she explained, he'd just feign ignorance.
How could a seasoned corporate fox like him not know exactly what was going on?
First, he'd invested six million into SoarCorp—generous on the surface. But right after the deal, he'd turned a blind eye while Intellectech, his other company, relentlessly poached SoarCorp's partners and vendors.
With that influx of capital, SoarCorp had no choice but to gamble everything, pushing all their projects forward at once.
That six million? It wasn't a lifeline. It was a loaded gun.
Once SoarCorp committed to those projects, Intellectech would swoop in and snatch away their resources.
He was hell-bent on bringing the company to its knees.
Danielle just smirked, saying nothing.
But her cold, unflinching gaze said it all.
Alexander was silent for a long moment.
Finally, he spoke. "When a company leader's decision-making stays stagnant, no amount of investment or powerful backing will save them. In the end, they'll just bleed out."
"Especially in tech," he added, his gaze settling on her face, steady and unhurried. "You're either moving forward, or you're falling behind."
That was all he had to say.
It wasn't even personal.
Danielle tightened her grip on her purse, drawing in a steadying breath.
She knew he was right. But her mother's new project was solid—if Intellectech hadn't gone after them so aggressively, none of this would've happened.
She hadn't come to plead for fairness. If someone was determined to play favorites, justice was out of reach.
She knew exactly where she stood with him, and she wasn't about to humiliate herself by begging.
She just wanted to see where he stood.
And now, his position was unmistakably clear.
Millie froze.
"What's going on?" she asked Alexander. "Why's Danielle threatening divorce again? Did you upset her?"
Alexander watched Danielle's retreating figure as the hospital room door closed behind her. He looked away, his voice cool. "She's just upset because things aren't going well at work."
Millie hesitated, then seemed to realize something.
"Alex, she really did look angry. I had no idea she was coming to the hospital. My mom was just happy about the good news, so she brought a cake to celebrate. I honestly didn't know those client contacts belonged to SoarCorp."
"If I'd known, I would've told my mom to back off—"
She paused, took a breath. "It's pointless to argue now. If you can help SoarCorp, please do what you can."
"Or maybe I should talk to my mom, tell her not to be so aggressive?"
Alexander replied, "Resources move around."
Millie understood what he meant.
Resources are never tied to one company forever. They always end up somewhere else.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
