"What do you want for dinner tonight?" he asked Millie softly, his voice low and gentle. "Let's head to the private room and order first."
Anyone unaware of their relationship might have mistaken them for strangers making polite conversation.
Millie smiled, tugging her coat tighter around herself. "Sure."
Danielle acted as if she didn't know him at all.
But as they brushed past each other, Liam caught a strong whiff of alcohol on Danielle and couldn't help but smirk. "So, now that you've left Alex, you're working as a bar hostess?"
Danielle paused, her gaze icy as she shot him a look. "Did you brush your teeth with toilet water this morning? Because your mouth reeks."
Gian opened his mouth, about to say something.
Danielle didn't bother to engage. She had no intention of letting Gian get entangled in any drama with this crowd. Grabbing his arm, she led him away without another word.
Liam's expression darkened.
Watching them walk off, he muttered under his breath, "That woman's really something. Cheating on her husband and flaunting it like it's nothing. This is the second time we've caught her, isn't it?"
"Alex, aren't you going to do something about this?"
Alexander's expression remained indifferent. He didn't say a word.
Just then, Leanne finished gathering her things and stepped out from the private room.
Millie was surprised to see her.
She hadn't expected to run into her mother in a place like this.
Since returning home, Millie had rarely visited her family, her work keeping her busy and away.
Alexander and the others invited Leanne to join them for dinner.
"No need," Leanne declined politely. "I've already eaten. I just want to have a quick word with Millie."
"There's more to this?" Leanne frowned. "Danielle can't hold a candle to you. She's not competent in any way. You and Alex practically grew up together—if it weren't for her, you'd be Mrs. Davidson by now."
"When we were negotiating earlier, she spent the whole time pouring drinks and laughing along. She's nothing but a cheap hostess. And Alex lets her do this? If the Davidsons find out, it'll be a disgrace to the whole family."
Leanne was clearly hinting at something.
Millie just smiled faintly, unfazed by Danielle. She'd always known Danielle's role at Ninesky wasn't anything important—a bachelor's degree alone hardly qualified her to get in.
"They're getting divorced," Millie said flatly.
Leanne's eyes lit up. "Well, that's an opportunity."
"Raffy is your child. Alex has helped raise him for years—there's no doubt about his feelings for you. No man would care for another woman's child that long unless he loved her. Now that you're back, he still treats you well, helps out with the family business—he's endlessly good to you."
Leanne leaned closer, her expression growing sly, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "Tell me honestly, have the two of you… already…?"

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
