“Sorry—was I too excited just now? Did I scare you?” Beatty realized she might have overdone it.
She was undeniably sweet-faced, with a bubbly, outgoing personality.
Danielle shook her head slightly. “Not at all. I’m flattered, but I’m really no celebrity.”
Jake chimed in, “No need to be modest. The new generation is our future. We should get to know each other, learn from one another.”
Danielle and Beatty shook hands, making their acquaintance official.
Beatty immediately insisted on exchanging contacts.
Danielle agreed. After all, they worked in the same industry.
“Can I call you ‘sis’?” Beatty asked, her eyes shining. “I’m genuinely such a fan. I really hope we’ll get a chance to work together in the future. I studied abroad, you know. Even back then, I’d heard of you—looked up to you, really.”
She was remarkably young to already hold a PhD from a top university overseas.
Her family had arranged a stellar job for her when she returned, and she’d made a name for herself quickly.
But it wasn’t just family connections—Beatty had real talent of her own.
She could hardly contain her excitement, although she tried to rein herself in after her enthusiastic greeting.
She never imagined Mr. Davidson would know Sophia. Meeting her here today, and actually introducing herself, felt like pure luck.
Danielle smiled. “Let’s keep in touch. Maybe we’ll get to work together.”
She glanced at her watch. “I should head inside.”
“Go ahead!” Beatty waved, practically starstruck as she watched Danielle walk away.
“Mr. Davidson, I’ve been saying how much I love Sophia and you never told me you knew her!” she exclaimed.
Jake laughed. “Well, I just introduced you, didn’t I?”
Beatty felt a little nervous, second-guessing herself. “Did I come on too strong just now?”
“Do you think I freaked her out? What if she never wants to talk to me again?”
Jake shook his head. “Come on now, it’s normal to get excited when you meet someone you admire.”
“Don’t worry, Danielle’s not the type to be put off by that.”
Beatty glanced through the control room window.
Inside, Danielle was busy cross-checking data and managing the launch sequence.
Her face appeared clear as day on the big screen broadcasting the event live.
The most striking thing about the nation’s scientific enterprise was the youthfulness of the team running things behind the scenes—almost everyone in that control room was young, not old.
With such powerful new blood, the future looked bright.
It sent a message to the world.
Alexander watched quietly from the viewing area, taking it all in.
Preparations continued at a fever pitch.
The countdown began: one hour, then thirty minutes, then ten.
As the nation watched, the final moments approached.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
