This was a matter of national importance.
“Miss Fletcher, I’ll take the young master inside now.”
Raffy glanced at Millie but said nothing.
Millie grabbed Raffy’s arm. “If I can’t go in, I’m not letting her go in either.”
Raffy frowned at her, then stubbornly pulled his hand away, his childish voice sounding both young and resolute. “I’m going in first. Standing out here in the sun—I don’t like it. I’ll get heatstroke.”
Kids, she thought, always so quick to chase comfort and forget loyalty.
He turned to follow the housekeeper inside.
Millie felt suddenly dizzy, her mind a blank. It was as if all the blood in her body had turned to ice.
“Wait—” she called out, desperation tightening her voice. “I can’t reach Alex. Could you go in and give him a message for me? Just tell him I’m waiting outside.”
Her words came out slow and hesitant, each syllable betraying her unease.
Alexander had always been on her side. She couldn’t believe that, at such a high-profile event, there wouldn’t be a place for her.
The housekeeper paused at the door. “If I get the chance, I’ll tell him.”
“Raffy, when you go in, tell your dad to call me, okay?” Millie pleaded.
Raffy blinked, nodded, and followed the others inside.
Millie watched helplessly as the doors closed behind them.
Moments later, her phone rang. It was Nash.
“Mr. Davidson is currently tied up with urgent matters and can’t take calls. He asked me to relay this message: today’s satellite launch is highly classified, and the schedule was finalized in advance. If there’s an appropriate opportunity later, he’ll arrange for you to be introduced.”
At events like this, every attendee’s credentials were meticulously checked.
And Millie—she simply didn’t have the kind of spotless credentials that would grant her entry.
Standing under the blazing sun, she only felt colder inside.
“Hierarchy? Did he really say that?” she managed, her voice trembling.
Nash replied, “That’s essentially what he meant. Mr. Davidson said you should just wait outside.”
He hung up before she could respond.
The heat was oppressive, the crowd pressed in from all sides.
Every inch of her was stifled and on edge.
She’d always told herself she was someone special, born to stand apart from the masses, her status protected and assured.
How could she be standing here, jostling with the crowd, craning her neck to catch a glimpse of the rocket launch?
Her hands hung limply at her sides, fists clenched so tightly her nails dug into her palms.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
