The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 577

Leanne’s words cut straight to the heart of the matter, leaving no room for doubt—they were aimed squarely at Danielle.

Everyone in the room turned to look at Danielle, eyes fixed on her, waiting to see how she’d respond.

Kirsten and Gian both frowned, though they tried to hide their reactions. This was a loaded question, a trap with no easy way out.

Back when rumors swirled about Danielle marrying into the Davidson family because of some supposed indiscretion, it was Alexander who’d stepped forward to clear her name. Now, if anyone simply followed Leanne’s logic and assumed Alexander had cheated, the whole story would fall apart. It made no sense. Falling into that line of thinking would be playing right into their hands.

Alexander’s gaze moved slowly, unhurried, settling on Danielle. He said nothing, his expression unreadable, betraying no hint of emotion or intent.

Everyone’s attention was glued to Danielle, waiting for her to speak.

Her face barely changed; she only glanced back at Alexander, her voice measured. “Shouldn’t you be asking him that?”

She gave a mocking smile. “He’s been cheating for ages—yet not even his mistress could make him want a divorce?”

With that, Danielle tossed the question right back at Alexander.

Her words stung, as if to say Millie was worthless—so insignificant that even as the ‘other woman,’ she couldn’t tempt Alexander to end his marriage. At the same time, Leanne’s accusation now sounded like an outright admission that Millie really was the mistress.

Now, with everyone rehashing the ugly truth, the uncomfortable silence grew.

Alexander’s lips curled in a faint, indifferent smile. He answered in a calm, almost lazy tone, “No, never wanted to leave.”

Leanne’s face turned an ugly shade, swinging between pale and flushed. She had only meant to drag Alexander down with her, but now the situation had spiraled out of control.

She and Millie had become pariahs, condemned by all.

They had tried to manipulate others by dangling past favors as threats, but now, with things falling apart, every bit of blame and every disaster was landing squarely on their shoulders.

Alexander, for his part, was done with any sense of obligation. He’d severed all ties cleanly and publicly today.

Danielle narrowed her eyes, letting out a cold laugh. For the sake of his own reputation, he really would say anything.

Kirsten rolled her eyes. “Plays the gentleman in public, as if the divorce is all your fault.”

“Alexander’s ruthless when he wants to be.”

If this mess hadn’t happened, the Fletcher family would’ve kept him firmly under their thumb, Jake always pressing him down. Now, though, Alexander had cut everything off without hesitation.

People truly could see right from wrong.

He’d never once admitted to being with Millie. The rumors had swirled, and he hadn’t cleared them up—maybe just to spare Millie the public humiliation. In the end, he played the victim, doing everything expected of him, while it was the Fletcher family who’d turned out to be the real backstabbers.

Bianca and Liam stood frozen, stunned by how far things had gone. They’d imagined countless outcomes, but never this one.
