Jake arrived in the middle of the night to find Danielle still there.
“There’s no need for so many people here. You should go get some rest,” he said, his voice steady and calm.
Jake had always been fair—never one to complain about Danielle or judge her.
Danielle glanced up at him. “This is my business. You don’t need to worry about me.”
Jake looked at her for a long moment, then sat down beside her. “When it comes to you and Alex’s marriage, it’s clear he’s the one who let you down. But there’s something I need to ask you—Raffy, is he Alex and Millie’s son?”
Danielle had no desire to discuss this now. “Whether he is or isn’t, just have them do a paternity test. That’ll give you your answer.”
Jake saw she wasn’t willing to talk and didn’t push her further.
It wasn’t until the next morning that Grandma woke up and visitors were finally allowed in.
A doctor emerged from the room. “Is Danielle here? Mrs. Davidson specifically asked to see her.”
Danielle changed into sterile scrubs before entering the ICU.
Machines beeped and hummed all around, the cold, clinical air thick with the scent of disinfectant. Danielle’s eyes reddened the moment she saw her grandmother.
With a trembling hand, the old woman reached out. Her voice was barely more than a whisper.
“Dani…”
Danielle rushed to her side and took her frail hand in hers.
“The Davidsons have wronged you, sweetheart. I’ve wronged you, too… And now, to find out Raffy isn’t even your son—it’s a sin.”
Every word seemed to cost her a great effort, but she was determined to speak.
“Grandma, I know everything. I honestly don’t mind. All I want is for you to get better. Please, don't talk anymore.”
Grandma shook her head ever so slightly.
“I know my time is almost up. My only regret is that I wasn't able to take care of you. Don’t blame yourself. If I really am gone one day, it has nothing to do with you—my time has simply come.”
Tears welled up in the old woman’s eyes and her voice turned hoarse. “It’s me who let you down. What I can’t let go of is you. If you blame yourself because of me, I’ll never rest in peace.”
“That won’t happen, Grandma. You’re going to live a long, long life,” Danielle insisted, fighting her own tears.
Grandma only shook her head and fell silent.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
