The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 205

Keegan arched an eyebrow. “If there’s profit to be made, why not?”

He was a businessman, through and through—profit was his only creed.

Liam gave Keegan a measured look. “Ninesky’s investment isn’t going anywhere. Their supply chain’s a mess; dumping money into this project is just throwing it away.”

“And Gian’s letting Danielle get involved with something like this? Does he think everyone’s blind—willing to play along just to amuse some woman?”

“Think it over. Seriously.”

Keegan’s eyes darkened, silent and unreadable.

Millie tilted her head and flashed Alexander a cool smile. “Alex, you know Danielle. Do you think she’s actually got what it takes?”

Alexander didn’t answer right away. He glanced at Danielle, his gaze steady but indifferent, then turned away and opened the car door. “Let’s go home.”

Back at Ninesky.

Gian tossed the stack of documents onto his desk, frustration etched deep across his face.

He’d spent the entire day swallowing his anger, the target of thinly veiled attacks.

Securing funding was a nightmare, and the project itself was stalling at every turn.

And Alexander kept pushing Millie for the lead—clearly determined to let her step all over Danielle.

Gian let out a scornful laugh. “Alexander’s obviously picking a side, and it’s not ours. He’ll do anything for Millie, even if it means going up against us.”

“It’s fine,” Danielle spoke up. “The project’s urgent. I’ll put my house up for auction and use the money to invest.”

If she could cover the investment herself, she’d bypass a world of trouble.

That very evening, Danielle listed her house online.

Danielle’s breath caught, her heart leaping into her throat. “Is she hurt?”

“Nothing too serious.”

Danielle ended the call and bolted out the door, flagging down the first cab she could find.

When she arrived at the kindergarten, she found Raffy and Niki waiting in the teacher’s office. Raffy’s hair was a mess, his clothes smeared with dirt. Niki looked even worse—blood streaked down her arm, and Danielle’s heart clenched as she rushed over, gathering her daughter into her arms. “Niki…”

“Let’s get you to the nurse.”

As Danielle carried Niki from the office, Raffy shot them a cold, dismissive glare and gave a huff of disdain.

In the nurse’s office, as Danielle carefully cleaned and bandaged her daughter’s wounds, she asked softly, “What happened? Why did you get into a fight?”

Niki stared at her shoes, refusing to meet her mother’s eyes. “I came in first in the contest today. He said I cheated, ripped up my homework, and…he said you pushed Miss Millie in front of the horse on purpose, that’s why Miss Millie and Daddy got hurt.”
