Keegan stood with a glass of wine in his hand, watching them intently.
Gian found the situation rather amusing.
The last time Keegan had called and been turned down, he hadn’t gotten discouraged. In fact, now he seemed more prepared than ever.
It was clear he was genuinely committed to working with them.
At the SummitTech press conference, his rejection of their offer couldn’t have been more obvious. Gian wondered when, exactly, Keegan’s perspective had begun to shift.
After all, Keegan and Alexander were old friends, part of the same social circle.
Gian met Keegan’s gaze, an enigmatic smile playing at his lips. “If we have the time, we’ll be in touch.”
He neither agreed nor refused, keeping his intentions deliberately vague.
Ninesky had already partnered with Vanguard Technologies for their new materials. What they needed now was a manufacturing partner.
But more than business, Gian simply wanted to stand up for Danielle.
Keegan didn’t seem the least bit surprised by the brush-off. He just smiled, easy and unbothered. “Then I’ll wait for Mr. Atwood’s call.”
With that, and after just a few brief words, Keegan excused himself.
He was never one to overstay his welcome.
As Keegan walked away, Gian let out a soft, derisive chuckle. “No one gives without wanting something in return.”
In their world, everyone had an angle.
Still, compared to Liam and the others, Keegan was at least polite to Danielle.
His attitude at the press conference had been so abrupt, and now this sudden change—it was odd.
But Gian had to admit, Keegan was born for business: flexible, pragmatic, never letting pride get in the way.
Danielle couldn’t help but smile. “SummitTech does have potential. Worth keeping an eye on.”
Business was business. Letting personal grudges get in the way only made you look small-minded.
As the government officials stepped onto the stage for their formal remarks, outlining new policies and the latest innovations, Danielle and her team made the rounds. But none of the companies they approached showed any real interest in working together. The summit was winding down, and there was no reason to drag it out.
As they headed for the exit, a waiter carrying a tray of drinks accidentally collided with Danielle.
Gian narrowed his eyes.
Millie glanced over at Danielle, a smug smile curling on her lips.
The partners they’d bent over backwards trying to win were now treating Millie with deference and respect.
It was proof enough—their status had never been on the same level.
She smirked as Gian helped Danielle with his jacket. “Gian must really be smitten with Miss Crawford.”
Liam gave a dismissive half-smile. “Looks fade. Beauty’s not much of a long-term strategy.”
You rise by what brings you up, and fall by that same thing.
“A woman like that—flighty, always chasing the next thing—she’s a liability even at home.”
Just then, Keegan walked out and caught the tail end of their conversation. He glanced over at Danielle and Gian, but didn’t comment on their personal lives. Instead, he said, “Ninesky’s got some real potential with this project.”
“Thinking of working with them?” Liam sounded surprised.
Keegan was notorious for being a workaholic, but even so—collaborating with Ninesky? That was unexpected.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
