The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 117

Gian glanced down at his phone, then turned to Danielle. "My dad needs me for a bit. Why don't you look around? I'll come find you later."

Danielle nodded. "Go ahead, take care of what you need."

Once Gian left, Danielle continued wandering among the exhibits.

Suddenly, voices drifted in from the entrance.

"Mr. Davidson is here. Is that his girlfriend with him?"

Danielle instinctively glanced over her shoulder.

Alexander strode in, impeccably dressed in a black suit, looking as composed and elegant as ever. Millie walked beside him, her blue dress perfectly matching the pattern and color of Alexander's tie.

Clearly, they were wearing coordinated outfits—a classic couple's look.

They really did make quite the striking pair.

Behind them trailed Liam, whose company, Cloudpath, was one of the industry's top players. It made sense he'd show up to an event like this.

Someone in the crowd whispered, "Of course that's his girlfriend. Look at their matching outfits. They're perfect together."

A faint, sarcastic smile tugged at the corners of Danielle's lips.

She remembered how she used to deliberately match her clothes to Alexander's, only for him to complain that he hated it. After that, she'd given up the idea—she thought he just disliked anyone resembling him in any way.

Turns out, he just didn't like her.

Danielle looked away, her expression flat and indifferent. Whatever Alexander did now had nothing to do with her.

She focused on the exhibits, taking her time as she moved through the hall. There was so much to see—cutting-edge technology, the latest machinery, innovative systems.

When she spotted a small drone running on the first-generation system she'd helped develop, Danielle stopped short.

She could still recall the thrill of creating it—the way it had solved the persistent problem of drones' limited range and battery life, dramatically improving their operational capabilities. The military had even started using it in real missions.

She hadn't expected to see it here. Reaching out, she tried to touch it.

She didn't spare him another glance. She had no intention of getting dragged into their drama here. Without another word, she turned and walked away.

Liam sneered at her retreating back. "Who spoiled her like this? No talent, just an attitude that gets worse by the day."

Today's summit wasn't just attended by Mr. Wilson; two senior aides to national leaders were also present.

Danielle was genuinely surprised—what had drawn such heavyweights to an industry conference like this?

After giving a speech about new policies, Mr. Wilson announced he had another meeting and made a beeline for the backstage, flanked by security.

He clearly wanted to avoid being mobbed for connections and favors.

As they walked, Mr. Wilson's secretary leaned in, professionalism in every word. "Are you sure you don't want to stay a bit longer? What if the person you're looking for actually shows up?"

Mr. Wilson shook his head. "Even if he does, I doubt he'll make an appearance today."
