Danielle recognized the man immediately.
It was Nash Langley—Alexander's chief assistant, and the only person in the company who knew about her marriage to Alexander.
She frowned and glanced in his direction.
A sleek black Mercedes sat parked under the shade of a tree not far away.
Compared to the parade of luxury cars idling outside the gates of the prestigious Montrose Academy, Alexander's car was almost modest.
Danielle could easily guess why Alexander had sent for her. There was only one reason he'd make such a show: to stand up for Millie. She couldn't imagine what else would prompt him to go to all this trouble.
But Danielle had no intention of getting involved.
Nash, however, stood squarely in her path, blocking her way with military precision. He clearly had no plans to let her and Niki leave.
Niki's face tightened in irritation as she glared at Nash, her eyes full of contempt.
Danielle's expression hardened. "So what's this, Nash? You planning to break the law and throw us into the car by force?"
Unfazed, Nash replied, "I wouldn't dare, Mrs. Davidson. I'm just asking you to step inside."
He lowered his voice: "Mr. Davidson says he knows where the thing you're looking for is."
—
A minute later, Danielle reached for the backseat door.
Nash blocked her gently, opening the front passenger door instead. "This way, ma'am—"
Danielle exhaled sharply, then ushered Niki into the backseat.
She hadn't expected Alexander to be driving himself today.
Raffy sat in the back, sulking, clearly chastened. He turned away when Niki got in, refusing to speak.
Niki didn't bother to acknowledge him either.
Alexander sat in the driver's seat, one hand draped casually over the steering wheel, his gaze cool as he addressed Danielle. "Tomorrow's my father's birthday. I want you at the dinner with me."
His tone was calm, almost indifferent, but there was no mistaking the command in his words. He left no room for discussion.
"We'll pick out a dress for you tomorrow."
Raffy's hands balled into fists. He looked at Niki, his face tight with reluctance, and muttered, "Sorry…"
"Louder."
Raffy took a shaky breath. "I'm sorry, Niki. I shouldn't have picked on you at school."
Niki stared at him, silent.
"Aren't you going to say something?" Raffy pressed, lips pressed together.
"I've apologized. You're supposed to say it's okay."
Niki replied evenly, "But I have the right not to forgive you. Just because you say sorry doesn't mean I have to accept it."
Raffy fell silent, his fists clenched tighter.
He'd already apologized. What more did she want? Besides, it hadn't even been on purpose.
Danielle reached for the door handle, meaning to leave—but found the locks had been quietly engaged.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
