But how had Danielle managed to turn things into something so monumental?
Millie couldn’t stay a second longer. She sprang to her feet, voice trembling.
“Is what she said true?”
Danielle watched the scene unfold with icy detachment, her gaze chilling as she observed them tear into each other like wild dogs fighting over scraps.
This was why Alexander had summoned her here? Just to watch this spectacle? Millie couldn’t wrap her mind around it—especially since she was supposed to be the one he cherished most.
Alexander looked at her, his expression flat and unreadable, his tone cold and sharp. “You really don’t understand what you’ve done?”
Millie stared at him in disbelief.
“I always thought we were good, that I hadn’t done anything to offend you. If you don’t want to help me with this plagiarism accusation, fine—but why are you siding with her to humiliate me?”
Her eyes were rimmed red, the sting of betrayal cutting straight through her. In that moment, her heart turned to ice. She’d still been holding out hope for him, for some sliver of understanding. Yet now, it was painfully clear: this was nothing more than a trap, a modern-day Judas feast.
She’d been betrayed by the person she trusted most. The icy chill seeped into her bones.
“If you didn’t want to help, you could’ve just said so. What’s the point of punishing me like this?” Her voice shook. “I got down on my knees, I apologized, but now you’re telling me that no matter what I do, this is about state secrets?”
Alexander’s eyes were calm, unfazed by her fury or her questioning.
“And what made you think I’d always be there for you?”
The words hit Millie like a physical blow—so cold, so final. He couldn’t possibly mean them… not to her. She shook her head in disbelief, tears threatening to spill.
“I really haven’t done anything to deserve this—” Her voice caught in her throat, hands clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white. “Do you really want to destroy me?”
It wasn’t enough to turn his back on her—he’d brought her here just to let Danielle watch her humiliation.
Danielle watched the drama unfold, her face impassive, as if she had nothing to do with any of it.
But Danielle wasn’t interested in their petty drama.
At that moment, Alexander glanced briefly at the door.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
