The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 547

Alexander still hadn’t made any statement about the situation.

Why should he even bother to help?

Liam, for his part, had always known which way the wind was blowing. He understood exactly what he should—or shouldn’t—be doing when things got complicated. No one wanted to risk being branded as an accomplice. At a moment like this, helping the wrong person could bring disaster upon yourself.

After finishing what he had to say, Liam hung up without another word.

Millie stood frozen, her phone still in her hand, staring at the screen in disbelief. She could understand if the others refused to get involved. But Liam…?

She pressed her lips together, hard. Every path she could think of had been thoroughly cut off. It seemed like no one was willing to help her now.

She’d always assumed that, since she’d made it into this social circle—since Alexander looked after her—she’d always have a place among them. She’d even believed she was one of the shining stars of this world, certainly more prominent than Liam.

But now, as the reality dawned on her, she realized: without Alexander, she was powerless.

Danielle, on the other hand, had made it all on her own—step by step, relying on nothing but her own talent and effort.

Millie didn’t want to admit that. Not now. Her mind buzzed, blank and desperate. She’d done everything she could, tried every option. But nothing had worked. Nothing at all.

She stood there in silence for a long moment before finally pulling herself together. She grabbed her phone and dialed Nash, hoping for any news about Alexander.

“Mr. Davidson is in a meeting with government officials. He’s unavailable at the moment,” Nash replied, his tone formal and cold as ever.

Millie bit down on her lip. “Did he leave you any instructions?”
