The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 545

She ought to confront him and get some answers.

Without hesitation, she dialed his number.

The phone rang for what felt like an eternity. No one answered.

Millie tried again. And again. She called several times in a row, but still, he didn’t pick up.

With no other choice, she called his assistant, Nash Langley.

But even Nash didn’t answer.

Leanne watched the scene unfold, her expression darkening at once.

“Looks like you’ve been cast aside,” she said flatly.

Millie’s mind went blank. She couldn’t believe things had come to this.

She tried Nash’s number again.

This time, at least, someone picked up.

“Hello.” The voice on the other end was cold and distant.

As soon as Millie heard it, she hung up.

She threw her phone across the room, running her hands through her hair in frustration.

Her justification simply didn’t hold up.

She really had no grounds to ask Alexander for help again and again—especially considering the whole plagiarism mess was entirely her own doing.

She had always carried herself with pride around Alexander, always held her head high. She had her dignity—her stubborn pride.

How could she possibly face him now, as if it were his fault for not fixing something she herself had done?

It was all her doing, after all.

“They finally answered, and you hang up? What’s wrong with you?” Leanne was nearly frantic. “Do you even realize what’s at stake here? This is bigger than just you. Every company connected to the Fletcher family is going to feel the fallout.”

And Millie—she’d been on the brink of a breakthrough, about to soar to new heights, only to crash spectacularly at the worst possible moment.

The Fletcher family had always been treading water, never really making waves, never quite breaking into the upper echelons.

Now, when they were so close to finally making it, everything was falling apart. Worse, they might end up even further behind than before.
