“Or is it that you’re just jealous of Chief Engineer Crawford, and now you’re using this whole scandal as an excuse to drag her name through the mud?”
Millie’s breath caught in her throat.
She knew perfectly well what kind of reputation her own alma mater had.
But having someone spell it out so bluntly in front of everyone made her cheeks burn with shame.
Her hand clenched just a little tighter as she forced herself to respond. “I never accused anyone of corruption. I only answered the reporter’s question.”
At that moment, the reporter’s gaze shifted to Danielle. “Ms. Crawford, would you care to respond to the questions I just raised?”
Danielle’s expression was cold and composed. She understood that dodging the issue now would only make things worse.
Gian had just checked the internet—social media was ablaze, swamped with stories questioning the moral character of the lead engineer at the Space Agency.
Dropping such a sensational story at this critical moment—who could be so malicious?
Danielle took the microphone from the reporter, her face pale but resolute. Her words rang out clearly: “Regarding these rumors about my daughter, I support a full investigation through every possible channel. I will cooperate with the authorities and the agency’s internal review.”
The reporter pressed on, unwilling to let go. “So you claim there’s nothing wrong with you or your daughter. Are you saying all those rumors online are completely baseless?”
The relentless barrage of questions was like a storm, relentless and suffocating.
Millie managed to keep a smile on her lips.
No one from the Davidson family would ever step forward to defend Danielle.
Alexander didn’t love her. The Davidsons certainly didn’t care for Danielle either.
A divorced daughter-in-law and a child of uncertain parentage—they couldn’t distance themselves fast enough at a moment like this.
She was looking forward to seeing Danielle finally lose her place on that pedestal.
“And where, exactly, did you hear all these rumors?”
The sudden, crisp voice echoed above the crowd, slicing through the tension.
For a split second, the entire room fell silent.
Every head turned toward the source.
Alexander, dressed in black, strode confidently toward Danielle.
Danielle’s heart gave a little jolt. She furrowed her brow, startled to see him intervene.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
