The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 492

Alexander’s gaze lingered on Bianca’s face, dark and unfathomable, unreadable in the dim light.

He gave a sudden, sharp smile. “Tell me, what do you really want? A daughter-in-law, or the power that comes with her?”

Bianca’s intentions couldn’t have been clearer; they were written all over her face.

Being exposed so mercilessly, her expression faltered for a moment.

“After all these years, was there really nothing between you two?” she pressed, taking a deep breath. “Now that she’s made a name for herself, you don’t regret it? If you just bring her back, I promise I’ll treat her well. I won’t give her any trouble, I swear.”

Alexander let out a cold laugh.

“So you’re saying you gave her trouble before?”

Bianca’s heart skipped a beat. “I never treated her badly. But if she comes back now, I’ll make sure she has everything she wants.”

Alexander glanced toward Danielle, who was mid-interview nearby.

Her face was calm, expression serene and distant. There was a gentle, quiet strength about her, a kind of dignified tranquility. Every question that came her way, she answered with composure and clarity.

“She’s better off without the Davidson family,” Alexander said quietly.

Bianca only realized he’d spoken after he’d already turned to leave.

“You—!”

Paula narrowed her eyes, watching Alexander’s retreating figure.

“You know, if you want your precious daughter-in-law back, you can’t go around barking orders,” Paula said, voice low. “You’re the one asking her for a favor, but you still act like you’re in charge.”

Bianca was used to getting her way at home, always the center of attention among society women.

The Davidson family’s status was unmatched; everyone wanted a piece of it.

Bianca felt a tightness in her chest.

She couldn’t let go of her craving for luxury and power, nor of the influence she already wielded.

Her son was highly respected; her husband was at the top of his field. Who wouldn’t envy her life?

But Jake’s ex-wife’s son was about to return.

She couldn’t stand to see Nathan succeed. Why should the kingdom her own son had worked so hard to build be handed over to someone who’d just returned from outside the family? Wasn’t that the same as stripping her of all authority?

Bianca turned to Paula, voice sharp. “You really are like a daughter married off—no longer part of this family. Does it not matter to you what becomes of the Davidsons? If your brother steps down, and you lose your family’s backing, do you really think your husband will still treat you so well? Everything you have now comes from your family name. Don’t forget that.”

Whether a daughter-in-law was respected or not depended on how powerful her family was.
