Plagiarism and theft—those were never choices she would have made.
She had to resolve this mess, and she had to do it cleanly.
“Paying damages is the least of my worries,” Millie said, voice tight. “What matters is that I can’t let this ruin my reputation—”
Legally, she stood little chance in this battle.
Alexander’s tone was cool and assured. “I’ve discussed your situation with our legal team.”
“Bring your mentor over from abroad. The two of you orchestrated this together, didn’t you? He was the mastermind, so he should take full responsibility.”
He laid out the solution without hesitation.
Find a scapegoat.
Whether that man was really her teacher or not didn’t matter much now.
What mattered was her name—her standing.
She was the victim here, misled and deceived by her mentor.
As far as the plagiarism scandal went, Millie herself was innocent. She hadn't known.
Hearing Alexander’s plan, she felt a small measure of relief.
At least the lawsuit and her reputation were, for now, under control.
“So—”
Alexander didn’t let her finish. “Have you totaled up how much you’ve lost? Figured out your debts?”
He cut straight to the point, methodical and logical.
One issue at a time.
Money? That was the easy part.
The real storm—the lawsuit—finally had a solution.
And with that, things would be wrapped up, at least on paper.
Danielle would still be untouchable, sitting on her throne.
And Millie? She’d have to start over from scratch.
A thousand indignations simmered in her chest, but in the end, she could only accept it.
“I haven’t done a full accounting yet, but I know it’s not a small number,” she admitted, uneasy.
“You’ve already given me so much,” she added, taking a steadying breath, “and I said I wanted to make the company profitable again—do you think it’s possible for us to break away from Newsworld? To go independent?”
AetherX Dynamics already had a reputation in the industry.
Everyone knew what the company was about. As long as she wasn’t the one officially blamed for the lawsuit, her name could recover.
As long as the company survived, there was hope for a comeback.
“That’s a question for her,” Alexander said evenly, making his position clear.
Frustration prickled at Millie again. She couldn’t understand how her life had come to this.
“I feel so uneasy,” she confessed, voice trembling. “None of this is what I wanted… I know I’m capable of more than this.”

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
