Niki's heart tightened.
She felt a strange flutter inside, something she wasn't used to.
Dad had never acted like this before.
Whenever they'd come to visit Great-Grandma, it was always Raffy who'd tag along, clinging to their father's side, wanting to be carried.
But now…
Niki bit her lip, then turned and hugged the old lady tightly. "No, I don't want to go. I haven't seen you in forever, Great-Grandma! I just want you to hold me."
She buried her face in Great-Grandma's arms, her voice sweet and pleading.
The old lady couldn't help but beam with delight.
Niki was such an endearing child; every little gesture tugged at the heartstrings.
Alexander didn't seem bothered by Niki's refusal. If he was disappointed, he didn't show it. He simply let his hand fall back to his side, as if it were only natural.
The old lady glanced at Danielle. "It's not often you come back to the family estate. Why don't you stay the night? I'd love to spend more time with Niki—I haven't seen her in so long. It's only Raffy who visits regularly."
She cherished having her great-granddaughter close by. After waiting so long, she wasn't about to let them leave so easily.
Danielle hesitated. "Next time, I'll bring Niki again. Things have been so busy lately—"
She was clearly reluctant and had no intention of staying any longer than necessary.
The old lady smiled kindly. "If you're busy, that's fine. Alex will be here tonight. He can take Niki to school in the morning."
Danielle fell silent.
She didn't trust Alexander with Niki; she knew he'd never cared much for her daughter.
"I'll just take the day off," Danielle said quietly.
Alexander's gaze flickered over her, but he said nothing.
"Where's Raffy?" the old lady asked. "Why didn't he come with you?"
Alexander smiled. "He's off playing with Millie."
"Millie?" The old lady thought for a moment, then nodded. "Another poor child… Invite her over more often if you can."
—
Dinner time.
In the dining room, Paula and Bianca were already seated. Alexander was there, too.
Paula eyed Alexander. "I heard Danielle's moved out with Niki. Is she trying to start a divorce battle over the money?"
Alexander's expression was unreadable, completely unfazed. "Just gossip."
"If she's not divorcing you, what's with all the attitude?"
Alexander glanced at Paula, his tone cool. "Has she done something to upset you again?"
"Who, me?" Paula feigned innocence, knowing better than to pick a fight with Danielle in front of Alexander.
Alexander was the eldest son—the pillar of the Davidson family, and now a rising star in the business world. She wouldn't risk getting on his bad side.
"I just asked her to help out with the kids and maybe lend a hand in the kitchen. She acts like she's the real Mrs. Davidson, never stepping foot in the kitchen while the rest of us are busy cooking."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
