“But that doesn’t give you the right to drag me through the mud,” Millie said coldly, her face set in stone. “What happened is what happened. You smeared my name for no reason, making me walk these halls for days under everyone’s accusing stares and whispered rumors. When the truth finally comes out, don’t think I’ll just let you off the hook.”
Danielle’s eyes narrowed—a cool, distant light flickered in them.
She found herself unable to understand how Millie’s mind worked.
Millie, of all people, knew whether or not she’d plagiarized the project. Yet here she was, standing before Chairman White, boldly claiming the work as her own.
Where did she get such unwavering confidence? What made her so sure she’d walk away clean? Who, or what, gave her the certainty of victory?
Millie’s hands were balled into fists, knuckles white. In front of so many eyes, she refused to show even a hint of weakness. She knew that if she let her composure slip for even a second, the court of public opinion would tear her apart.
Besides, she told herself, this was a game she couldn’t lose. Why on earth should she be afraid?
“You’re talking about Sophia’s Verdphoenix X7?” Chairman White looked straight at Millie.
That model was, without a doubt, the gold standard in military aviation. Because of the X7, the nation’s defense technology had taken a significant leap forward.
Millie’s tone was frosty. “Yes, the X7 is a true milestone. Even though jet fighters have continued to evolve, that one still stands as our first great leap. Everyone in the industry looks up to it—uses it as a benchmark.”
Sophia, she admitted, was a genuine trailblazer. A genius among geniuses. Most people wouldn’t achieve in a lifetime what Sophia had accomplished with her engineering projects.
“Sometimes, when ideas collide, people start throwing around accusations of plagiarism. Frankly, that’s just laughable.”
Danielle gave Millie a sidelong glance. “Let’s get one thing straight: this isn’t a case of ‘ideas colliding.’ It’s a line-for-line copy—a 1:1 duplicate. Don’t try to skirt the issue.”
Millie’s expression didn’t change. “You can’t just say that and make it true.”
Chairman White folded his arms and glanced at Danielle. Her face was calm, her eyes unreadable. Even now, backed into a corner, she refused to lose her composure.
Chairman White turned to Alexander. “Alex, you grew up with Miss Fletcher. You know her capabilities better than anyone. What’s your opinion on all this?”
He’d just pulled the silent Alexander into the fray. After all, Millie owed much of her current status and fame to Alexander’s support.
Slowly, Alexander looked up, his eyes meeting Danielle’s for a brief moment.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
