Backstage dressing room.
Gian and Kirsten arrived one after the other.
Kirsten walked in, her face twisted with scorn. "Ran into those bad luck magnets again outside. Honestly, is there anywhere they're not? And that Millie? I heard she's competing too."
"She's completely nuts!" Kirsten huffed. "Did you see her strutting around like she owns the place?"
Danielle gave her a half-smile. "Why waste your breath on her?"
"I just can't stand that smug look—like she got where she is by latching onto men."
"She didn't make the cut for the Blackwood Research Institute, so she had her husband pull strings for her, get her in through the back door."
Kirsten was practically fuming, nostrils flaring. "Honestly, Alexander—what has he ever done for you, Danielle? You've been married all these years, and what do you get?"
"He's always so generous with Millie, though."
Danielle pressed her lips together.
It was true. In the six years they'd been married, Alexander made time every year to fly Raffy overseas just to see Millie.
When a man cares, no distance is too far.
No matter how warm the people around her, nothing could thaw the coldness Alexander showed her.
Six years, and what did she have to show for it? Nothing—except giving up her daughter and her own life to this marriage.
Danielle stood. "I'm going to the restroom," she said quietly.
Inside the crowded room, she felt suffocated, her chest tight, like invisible wires were wrapping around her, making it impossible to breathe.
She just needed a moment alone to gather her thoughts.
"What are you saying?" Millie laughed lightly. "Danielle, don't get the wrong idea. Davidson and I are practically siblings. We've been joined at the hip since we were kids—if we were going to be together, it would've happened ages ago."
"I was actually going to ask you this at the entrance," Millie continued breezily. "Danielle, you're home all the time and don't really have many friends. You came to cheer for me at the competition, didn't you?"
"If you'd said you were interested, I'd have talked to Davidson—let you join me as my assistant. I'd pay you, of course."
"I mean, I'm just starting out, but you know how it is—soon I'll be in high demand. Companies are already lining up with offers."
She didn't give Danielle a chance to answer, just kept talking, eyeing her with a strange envy. "Sometimes, I do envy you. Staying at home, looking after your family… I gave up a lot for my studies and career."
"But after you see my performance later, you'll get why I could never settle for marriage and kids."
"It's tough being alone overseas," Millie added. "But at least you're generous about letting Davidson visit. He comes almost every weekend."
Danielle's breath caught in her throat. She couldn't help glancing at Alexander.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
