Gian never missed a chance to sing Danielle’s praises, always making a point of introducing her with a flourish.
And to be fair, Danielle did have an elegance about her—poised, graceful, always impeccably put together.
A lot of people had started to acknowledge her competence at work.
But no one believed she was the miracle worker Gian made her out to be.
If Miss Crawford were truly that extraordinary, she wouldn’t still be a virtual nobody in the industry.
Everyone understood what was really going on: Gian was just promoting someone on his own team, trying to help her build connections.
Besides, rumor had it that Miss Crawford wasn’t exactly highly educated—just a bachelor’s degree.
Gian’s infatuated introductions were hardly surprising.
But these were seasoned businesspeople; no one let their real thoughts show on their faces.
Millie watched the scene unfold from across the room, a faint, mocking smile playing on her lips.
“Looks like Miss Crawford’s prospects at Ninesky are a lot brighter than they were at Newsworld. Still just an assistant, but the perks are worlds apart.”
Back at Newsworld, Danielle’s abilities hadn’t even earned her a seat at the grown-ups’ table.
Alexander, as always, remained calm and detached—he barely seemed to notice Danielle at all.
Since she’d entered the room, his gaze hadn’t landed on her once.
He just smiled blandly at Millie’s comment, offering no further reaction.
Meanwhile, Gian was surrounded, chatting animatedly with a small crowd.
Danielle glanced to the side and spotted Ablitt standing alone.
She took her wine glass and made her way over to greet him.
“Good evening, Mr. Gaylord. I’m Danielle Crawford from Ninesky’s R&D Division.”
She made her intentions clear—she was here to discuss potential collaboration.
Ablitt turned at the sound of her voice.
No one in their right mind would risk a permanent falling out now.
Danielle could practically feel Mr. Gaylord’s disdain as he looked at her.
She frowned slightly. “Is there a problem, Mr. Gaylord? If you have any concerns, feel free to voice them.”
Ablitt gave her a look she couldn’t quite decipher. “On the contrary, Miss Crawford, I admire your talent for making the most of your... assets. How could I possibly have any complaints?”
“With your skills, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of other partners willing to work with you. As it happens, our own order book is already overflowing. What a pity.”
Danielle’s eyes narrowed at the barely disguised sarcasm in his reply.
“Mr. Gaylord—”
Suddenly, a cool, clear voice sounded behind her.
Alexander was approaching, Millie on his arm.
Danielle glanced over, her brows knitting together as she saw Millie and Alexander heading their way.

Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
