Danielle's brows knit together, her shoulders tensing as she froze in place.
For a moment, she thought she must have misheard.
"What did you say?"
She could hardly believe her ears.
Hadn't the house only just been mortgaged? How could someone already be here to take it away?
Frowning, Danielle unlocked the front door.
She had no idea when her mother had taken out that loan.
Just then, Vivian descended the staircase, quietly beginning a conversation with the bank official.
Danielle listened, her expression growing colder as she glanced down at her phone, checking the balances on every card she had.
The bank representative told Vivian there was no way to extend the deadline.
Unless the entire payment—principal and interest—was settled in full today, the house would be sold off by that afternoon.
At that moment, a sleek black Mercedes glided up the driveway and stopped in front of the house.
Danielle recognized the car, the license plate—her gaze turned even frostier.
The doors opened. Millie stepped out, steadying Alexander as he followed her.
"Alex, this is the house my mother and I were looking at. It's perfect for an older person—quiet, peaceful," Millie said lightly. "Let's take a look inside. If it feels right, we'll just buy it today."
Alexander's eyes flicked to the front door, meeting Danielle's. His look was cool and indifferent, as if seeing her there was no surprise at all.
Danielle almost laughed.
How perfectly obvious.
She'd barely slapped Millie's face yesterday, and today Alexander showed up with her to look at the house—to buy it out from under her.
He'd been here before. He knew full well this was her mother's home.
He was doing this just to see her humiliated.
Was this what marriage was supposed to come to? Ruthlessness, down to the last inch? The irony stung.
Alexander slipped one hand in his pocket, his tone disinterested. "It's fine."
Danielle's fists clenched at her sides.
So this was how far he'd go—showing up with Millie to buy the house, stripping them of everything.
"So we're buying it?" Millie prodded.
"Who said we agreed to sell?" Danielle shot back, turning to the bank official. "Let's start the payment process."
Vivian grabbed Danielle's arm, whispering, "Where would you get that much money…"
The bank official hesitated, caught off guard. "Ah… well…"
Alexander finally looked away, his eyes cool as he addressed Millie in no rush at all. "Let's go take a look at another place."
Millie faltered for a second.
She had come here to seal the deal; with SoarCorp in crisis, how could Danielle suddenly afford to pay?
Frowning, she forced a smile. "Sure, let's see something new. Secondhand places just never feel quite right, anyway."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
