"Why should I apologize?"
Danielle lifted her gaze, meeting Alexander's cold, steely expression. "Alexander, what gives you the right to order me around?"
Her face was icy as she turned to Leanne. "Next time, it won't end with just a slap."
Whenever Danielle adopted this frosty demeanor, she exuded an undeniable presence.
Without waiting for a reply, she spun on her heel and walked downstairs.
"Alex." Millie frowned. "Your wife, she…"
Leanne held her cheek, her voice tinged with indignation. "Honestly, your wife is just… Well, never mind. I won't stoop to arguing with the younger generation."
"Maybe she's just jealous of Millie and took it out on me. I was only trying to help, offering to work with their company, maybe give them a leg up."
She sighed, feigning disappointment. "Now, well… I suppose we just weren't meant to cooperate after all."
Alexander's face remained expressionless throughout, his gaze fixed on Danielle's retreating figure. He finally looked away, silent, and left as well.
Millie hurried after him. "Alex, don't be upset. I'm sure she didn't mean it." She caught his arm, trying to comfort him. "She's probably just upset. After all, she threatened divorce yesterday, and with SoarCorp struggling, she must be under a lot of pressure."
Leanne let out a mocking laugh and followed them.
She spoke up, her tone casual. "It's fine, really. Whatever's going on between you two, just sit down and talk it out. I'm not bothered."
"But as someone with experience, let me give you a word of advice: if her heart isn't in this marriage anymore, sometimes it's better to just let it go."
—
After leaving the hospital, Danielle found it hard to breathe.
Every single time, she ran into them—like ghosts she couldn't shake off.
She was about to get into her car when her phone rang. The caller ID showed it was the hospital.
"Miss Crawford, just letting you know, your mother's room has been upgraded."
Danielle rubbed her temples. At least that was one piece of good news.
"How much will it cost?" she asked quietly.
Taking a deep breath, she straightened her blazer and made her way toward the elevator, heels tapping against the floor.
Rounding a corner, her foot caught on something and she lurched forward.
In the blink of an eye, a strong hand caught her by the wrist, stopping her fall. A faint, woodsy cologne drifted around her.
"Careful there," a gentle, refined voice said above her.
Once steady, Danielle looked up at the man. "Thank you."
He was dressed in a sharp, black suit, young but with a calm, assured air.
"Don't mention it." His eyes were bright with a subtle smile. "Excuse me, is Mr. Atwood's office at Ninesky Technologies up this elevator?"
Danielle hesitated for a moment.
"I'll take you up. And you are…?"
The man's lips curved in a friendly smile. "Harold Chapman, from Vanguard Technologies."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
