The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell novel Chapter 136

Millie noticed Danielle's silence.

She went on, "I'm planning to buy a plot in Section B."

Danielle's face darkened.

Section B—that was where her grandmother was buried.

Leanne had been the woman who came between her mother and father. Now, having her mother and grandmother buried in the same cemetery, in the same section, felt like an open insult.

Never mind how furious her uncle and mother would be if they found out—Danielle could barely stomach it herself.

Alexander was letting Millie walk all over her, more and more.

Her fingers tightened involuntarily around the water bottle, her knuckles trembling.

She took a steadying breath and fixed a cold stare on Alexander.

"If you let her move her grandmother's grave here, I'll make sure everyone knows how she abandoned her own son for the sake of her precious reputation."

"When Rafferty ends up branded an illegitimate child, do you really think the Davidson family will still accept him?"

Millie's face changed, her brows knitting in anger. "Danielle, isn't Raffy your son too? How could you even say something like that?"

"You've raised him for years—are you really going to destroy him just like that?"

Her son?

Danielle could hear nothing but bitter mockery in those words.

"Well," Her tone was icy as she looked at Millie. "The biggest mistake I ever made was adopting Raffy!"

If she could live this life over, all she wanted was to fight her way back to the top of her industry, to give her daughter strength and confidence.

She wanted a clean break—just a straightforward divorce from Alexander, no more entanglement with his twisted family and their endless drama. But, of course, they insisted on dragging her back in.

Alexander looked at Danielle, his expression unreadable.

After a long silence, he finally turned to Millie. "I'll arrange for a better plot for your grandmother."

He was backing down, making a compromise.

Kirsten noticed and gave her a worried look. "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

Danielle took a deep breath and shook her head. "I'm fine."

Running into those people was enough to throw anyone off.

"Mom!" At that moment, Niki ran over and threw her arms around Danielle's waist. "Great-grandma said the custom figurine she ordered for me from overseas is almost here! When it arrives, will you pick it up for me?"

Her daughter looked up with wide, hopeful eyes.

Danielle remembered—Niki loved collecting surprise toys and figurines. Custom ones were especially rare, and most of her toys had gone to Raffy over the years.

Niki mostly played with things she'd made herself.

Now that her figurine was finally coming, Danielle didn't have the heart to dampen her daughter's excitement.

"Of course. I'll make sure to pick it up for you."

"Yay!" Niki jumped for joy, her whole face lighting up with a smile.
