"The doctor gave him an injection, but the fever won't break. What are we supposed to do…? What if his brain gets damaged from the heat?"
If something happened to the boy, and the master started asking questions, what would she do then?
Danielle kept her composure. "Go get some rubbing alcohol. And ask the doctor for another round of meds."
She specified the medication.
Every time Raffy had a fever, only that medicine ever helped—Danielle had learned that from years of looking after him.
Raffy had been born premature, frail from the start, and everyone doted on him. If he had a food allergy, it could quickly spiral into a high fever, and only antihistamines would help bring the temperature down.
Julia watched as Danielle gently dabbed Raffy's skin with alcohol. Then, she coaxed the medicine into him. Ten minutes later, she checked his temperature again—finally, the numbers began to fall.
Julia let out a small sigh of relief.
When a child burns with fever in a hospital, the doctors rely on standard treatments, but it's the parents who know their child's constitution best.
Danielle sat quietly by Raffy's bedside, gazing at him as he slept.
Her feelings were tangled.
She couldn't say she didn't love Raffy. In truth, she could never really harden her heart and walk away from him. She had raised him from his first fragile days, from nursing to his first word, all the way until now. The only thing missing was that he hadn't come from her own body—for everything else, she was his mother in every way that counted.
If anything, she'd always worried about Raffy more than Niki, simply because he was so delicate.
If she hadn't come tonight, there was a real chance his fever could have done lasting harm.
Danielle didn't leave that night.
By dawn, Raffy stirred and opened his eyes. He saw Danielle slumped asleep at the edge of his bed.
He reached out with his small hand and tugged at her sleeve, his child's voice raspy: "Mom… I'm thirsty."
Danielle woke and, seeing he was conscious, poured him a glass of water. "Does anything else hurt?" she asked as she handed it to him.
Raffy looked up at her, pitiful. "My head aches, and my whole body feels weak…"
Raffy threw himself into Millie's arms. "I'm okay, Mom…"
Danielle watched them. She'd seen Raffy grow up—he was never one for affection, except with Millie. He was always closer to her than to Danielle. Even a moment ago, he hadn't reached for Danielle's embrace.
Danielle took a deep breath. She turned to Alexander, her voice cool. "When you raise a child, you're responsible for his life. It's not all about indulging him."
"Raffy has a seafood allergy—shrimp, crab, fish, freshwater or saltwater, it doesn't matter. He can't have any of it."
Alexander's brow furrowed. "I've never given him anything like that."
Julia, too, knew about the boy's allergies—she would never have fed him those foods.
Alexander glanced at Millie.
Millie looked startled. "I… I didn't know Raffy was allergic…"
Raffy hugged her tightly. "Don't blame Millie, Mom. I wanted to eat it. You never let me have it before, so I kept craving it. That's why I'm always allergic…"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Wife You Buried Is Back from Hell
Where is Chapter 545 - 554? I thought there'll be 9-10 chapters per update....
I knew it! He’s in love with her but he thinks she loves his brother!...
Oh poor Bianca... regrets, regrets :)...
This is it! Revenge. Way to go Dani....
OMG! Chapters 451-462 had me on edge. I wish we could also read Alexander's POV. I swear I want to punch him and Millie. This story is kind of a push and pull. The main character will win some, then lose some. Hope the writer gives Danielle a big win....
I hope not a lot of important dialogues get cut out, especially between Danielle and Alexander. But I can't complain, really. Thank you again for the updates....
I'm already in chapter 432 ATM and I have the impression that the story is so slow. Daniele remains in the dark, her reputation is low and inexistent, her accomplishment and professional abilities are stiĺl hidden, her enemies are taking the joy in humiliatihg her. No evolution in the plot? Please don't stay long in this, readers might lose interest in the long run....
Please update...
The last chapter was too short. More pls. Thank you....
Lovin' this. More more pls!...
