Anger flashed across Neil’s eyes when he heard what Silvia said. He looked at her with murderous intent.

“Okay. Goodbye, then. Call me if anything comes up.”

“Come back with me!”

There was no warmth at all in Silvia’s eyes. “You’ve lied to me over and over again. I really don’t understand how you can stand before me as if nothing has happened. Don’t you even feel guilty?!”

Silvia scoffed. “You don’t understand. What I need is not an apology, but a clean break from you.”

Seeing her distant attitude, Neil felt a wave of disappointment in his heart.

Half an hour later, the car stopped in front of a steakhouse.

Since Silvia refused to move, Neil softly said, “Let’s get something to eat. Then, we’ll head back.”

Silvia finally looked at him, but her gaze was hostile. “You can eat alone. If I see your face, not only will I lose my appetite, but I might even vomit.”

Neil widened his eyes in shock and felt hurt.

“Silvia, I know you’re angry right now. I know that I’ve made mistakes in the past. I promise that I’m not hiding anything else from you. Can’t you forgive me one last time?”

It had been so hard for them to get this far. He really did not want to break up with her just like that.

Silvia lowered her gaze and spoke after a while, “Neil, how many chances have I given you? But what have you done?” Her eyes were red with tears.
