“Yes… He threatened to kill my parents if leaked his whereabouts. Despite that, I went to your company to see you… but you asked me to leave. You didn’t even give me a chance to speak…”
Neil frowned and asked, “When was that?”
“That time I saw the ring for your proposal.”
Following Ada’s reminder, Curtis recalled the incident too.
“Mr. Remus, Miss Pond did mention that she came to see you about Liam’s whereabouts. That’s why I brought her to the lounge.”
Neil instantly looked displeased. He glared at Curtis as he said, “You never mentioned it to me!”
“I saw you chasing Miss Pond out of your office… I thought that she had already told you. Besides, she would always make up some excuse to see you. I thought it was the same thing that time…”
Curtis’s voice grew softer as Neil’s expression darkened.
“There’s no use arguing about this anymore. The most important thing now is to find Liam’s whereabouts,” Silvia said in a low voice.
“I don’t know what happened to him last night. He suddenly packed up and left,” Ada said pitifully.
She was sobbing, but Neil was completely unaffected.
“Did you participate in his scheme?”
Ada seemed confused. “What did he do?”
“You better be innocent, or else, I won’t let you off the hook!”
Her face turned pale as she was frightened by Neil’s ruthless expression. “Neil, I’ll swear on my life if you still don’t believe me. He just stayed in my bedroom and stared at my tummy the entire time. I spent every day in fear…” she said in distress.
Neil refused to listen to her anymore and left with Silvia.
Ada watched as they left, and the fear in her eyes turned into jealousy and hatred.
Silvia quickly got out of the car and walked briskly toward her. “Why didn’t you wait for us inside? It’s so cold today.”
Abalene finally breathed a sigh of relief after she saw Silvia. She smiled and said, “I was excited to see you, so I came out to wait for you. It’s not that cold.”
Silvia touched Abalene’s hand, and it was freezing.
“Let’s go inside! This isn’t good for your health!”
“Alright. You should let go of my cold hands. I don’t want you to be cold either.”
Silvia did not loosen her grip and insisted on holding Abalene’s hand. She only released it after they went inside and felt some warmth.
“You shouldn’t do that again. I’ll get mad if you do!”
Abalene immediately relented and asked the servant to bring Silvia her favorite food. She smiled and said, “Silvia, you should eat more. I’m relieved to know that you’re fine. You should ask Neil to get you a driver. I’ll be worried otherwise.”
