Silvia paused and said, “I have time. I’ll pick you up later.”
Noelle chuckled. “There’s no rush. I haven’t had lunch yet. Do you want to eat together?”
“Alright.”
After she hung up, Silvia quickly scooped out all the broth and put it in the refrigerator. Then she washed the pot and drove directly to the hotel.
When she arrived, Noelle was already waiting in the lobby downstairs.
Noelle picked up a medical document and quickly approached her/
At the same time, a man asked her for her number, but she dismissed him with a few sentences.
Once she entered the car, she said, “Nowadays, men keep asking for my number over nothing. They’re just in it for the looks.”
Silvia raised an eyebrow in amusement. “It’s not just the looks; it’s the boobs too.”
Noelle was dumbstruck. “I haven’t seen you in a few years, but I’ve noticed that you’re getting more and more brazen.”
“What do you want for lunch?”
Noelle leaned against the car window and smiled. “Anything spicy.”
She was a Louisianian girl, so she only ate spicy food. When they used to study medicine together, the amount of chili she added to her food each time was scary.
“I’ve tried a good Louisianian restaurant before. Why don’t we go for Louisianian food?”
“Okay. It’s up to you!”
The two of them went straight to the hospital after lunch. Once they looked through Chris’s medical report, Noelle’s face became extremely grim.
“Sil, there really is just a fifty-percent chance of success. It’ll be extremely risky.”
Silvia nodded. “Yes, I know. But without surgery, there’s less than a ten-percent chance that he’ll survive. He’s just waiting to die.”
The emotions in Chris’s eyes did not change. He remained serious as he said, “Thank you, Dr. Howard.”
Even if there was a fifty percent success rate, there was still a fifty percent failure rate. As such, Chris was not optimistic.
Dr. Howard did not know how to comfort him. He sighed and told Chris to get some rest before leaving.
More than ten minutes later, Katherine walked into the ward with a change of clothes for Chris. Noticing that he was still staring out the window, she said, “Why don’t I send Silvia a message? That way, she can come over and pay you a visit.”
Chris turned to her and said, “If you have so much free time, you can attend to other artists. I can get a caregiver to take care of me.”
Katherine was speechless.
The ward fell silent once again, and Chris continued to look out the window.
Katherine sighed and pulled a chair next to him to keep him company.
After Silvia sent Noelle back to her hotel, she returned to the mansion.
