Silvia bit her bottom lip. While she hesitated, Neil said, “Your friend’s already looking at us. Are you sure you don’t want to make a decision now?”
“Alright. I promise,” she said through gritted teeth.
“I’ll wait for you at home then.”
Neil said goodbye to Noelle before he got in the car and left.
Noelle stared meaningfully at Silvia, whose face was red. “What did he say to you to make you blush?” she teased.
Silvia touched her warm cheeks subconsciously. “Nothing… Let’s go in, Noelle.”
Noelle smiled and did not press her about it.
When they entered the restaurant, the waiter walked forward.
“Miss Pond, Mr. Remus has rented out the entire restaurant. I’ll bring you to the seat with the best view of the river.”
After they sat down and ordered their food, Noelle said, “It looks like your boyfriend is quite powerful. Does he own a company?”
Silvia nodded. “Yes.”
When Neil was mentioned, she automatically recalled what he had whispered into her ear. Her face turned red again.
She took a sip of water and slowly said, “Let’s not talk about him. Let’s discuss the surgery. The survival rate for this surgery has been zero so far. I believe we’ll encounter many unexpected situations during the operation, so we need to communicate earlier.”
Noelle’s expression became serious when she mentioned the surgery. She nodded. “Alright. I heard that this patient is your friend?”
“Yes. I’ve worked with him before.”
Noelle did not probe any further. Both of them discussed some details before they talked about Noelle’s life abroad.
Silvia was a little puzzled when she realized that Noelle had been single. “You have so many suitors. Don’t you plan to date any of them?”
Silvia gave it some thought before she nodded. “Alright then. I’ll get two bodyguards to protect both of you.”
“Okay.”
She assigned Neil’s bodyguards to Noelle before she took a taxi back to the mansion.
When she opened the door and noticed that Neil was not in the living room, she tread lightly so that she could sneak back into her room.
However, as she approached the bedroom door, she heard Neil laughing behind her.
“Silvia, why are you acting so suspiciously?”
She froze before she turned to look at him. “I’m just worried that I’ll interrupt your work.”
Neil cocked his eyebrow in amusement. “Are you afraid of interrupting my work, or afraid that I’ll ask you to fulfill your promise?”
