Mr. Remus, Your Billionaire Wife Wants a Divorce novel Chapter 529

“You’re only twenty-two. You’re a young, promising actor! How can I come to terms with the fact that you might not live past six months?!”

Chris remained calm. He was about to speak when the ward door suddenly opened. Mr. Grenning then pushed Alan, who was in a wheelchair, into the room.

“Why are you here?!”

Chris’s gaze turned cold. There was even a hint of disgust and hatred in his eyes.

Alan cleared his throat and angrily said, “Isn’t it obvious why I’m here? Why didn’t you tell me that you were seriously sick?!”

Chris sneered. “Now you remember that you’re a father? Where were you when my mom was sick and we had no money for treatment? Where were you when I was on my knees begging for a piece of bread? We weren’t involved in each other’s lives before, and we won’t be in the future!”

“Nonsense! I felt guilty toward you and your mother, so I let you do whatever you wanted in the past. But I won’t allow it anymore. Pack your things and return to Imperial City with me. I’ll find the best doctor to treat you!”

“Forget it. Neurology experts from all over the world have examined me. They can’t carry out the surgery, and I only have six months left.

Alan’s face turned pale when he heard this. “No way! I won’t let you die! You need to live well and take over Rios Corporation!” he shouted.

Chris found it a bit absurd. In the past, when he and his mom struggled to afford food, Alan just watched and did nothing.

All Alan had to do was give the command to rescue them from hunger and cold, yet he chose not to. If he had done something, Chris’s mom would not have worked herself sick and ended up dying with deep regret.

When Chris no longer needed money, Alan offered him control of Rios Corporation.

“If you don’t believe me, consult the doctor yourself. I’m tired and in need of rest. Please leave, and don’t bother coming back.”

After that, Chris lay down and closed his eyes. “Katherine, please send him out!”

“How dare you!”

“Mr. Grenning, send these reports to our family doctor and get his opinion.”

“Yes, Mr. Alan.”

The family doctor soon replied, but his outlook was even more severe than that of the other doctors. He went as far as saying that Chris might not live beyond three months.

For many years, Alan had relied on him for his health. He might not trust other doctors, but he would not question the family doctor.

If Chris died, he would have no one to take over Rios Corporation!

Considering this, he looked at the attending physician and pleaded, “Isn’t there any other way to save him? Money isn’t an issue. I’ll pay any amount if it can save him!”

The attending physician shook his head helplessly. “Mr. Rios, six months is our most optimistic estimate. If the patient’s condition worsens at a faster rate, he might not live beyond three months.”
