Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 105

Chapter 105

Tristan’s POV

The scent of Moonshade territory still clung to my clothes as I crossed back into Silverblood land. My wolf clawed desperately at my consciousness, urging me to turn around. To go back. To take what was mine.

She wasn’t even afraid of me, I muttered to myself, drumming my fingers against the leather steering wheel. The memory of Lyra’s facethose bright green eyes lighting up when she saw memade something twist painfully in my chest.

My phone vibrated. I ignored it. Whoever it was could wait. My mind was filled with images of the little girl who’d run to me without hesitation, who’d trusted me completely despite never having met me before. And somewhere in Moonshade territory, there was another childa boy with eyes rumored to look nothing like his mother.

Why the hell am I even thinking about this?I growled, pressing harder on the accelerator. The trees blurred past, becoming smears of green and brown in the gathering dusk.

But I knew exactly why. Those children called to something primal in me, something that went beyond logic or reason. My inner wolf had recognized them instantly, had been drawn to Lyra with a powerful protective instinct I’d never experienced

before.

The thought that they might be minethat Lysandra had hidden my own flesh and blood from me for five yearsmade my blood boil. If that were true, if DNA confirmed what my wolf already seemed to know

I’ll bring them home,I promised the empty car. Lyra, I swear, once the report comes back positive, I’m not just taking you but your brother too. No pup of mine will grow up without their Alpha father.

The words hung in the air, heavy with conviction, but underneath them lurked doubt. Why would Lysandra hide something so important? She had to know I would’ve taken responsibility, would’ve claimed them. I might have been cold to her, but I would never abandon my own blood.

Unlessunless she thought I’d take them from her completely. An Alpha had rights to his offspring that even the mother couldn’t contestespecially when that Alpha led one of the most powerful packs in the territory.

Is that what she feared? That I’d use my status to separate her from her children?

Memories of our marriage flashed through my mindthe casual cruelty, the dismissal of her feelings, my constant absence. In her place, maybe I’d have run too.

I shook my head, pushing away these unwelcome thoughts. None of that mattered now. If those twins were mine, she had no right to keep them from me, regardless of our past.

Three hours later, I stepped into my penthouse, running a hand through my hair. The lights were already on, and Varian rose from my couch, his face carefully neutral.

Alpha,he nodded. I’ve been waiting for your call.

My driver hovered uncertainly by the door. I turned to him, noticing the dark circles under his eyes. He’d been driving for hours without complaint.

Get some rest,I told him. You’ve done well today.

His eyes widened slightly at the unexpected consideration. He bowed and backed out, closing the door quietly behind him.

Varian raised an eyebrow but said nothing. I ignored his silent question, heading toward the bathroom.

I need a shower,1 announced. We’ll talk after.

Alpha, about what happened-he began.

A few minutes, Varian,I cut him off, my voice quiet but final. Let me clear my head first. Now isn’t the time.

In the bathroom, I stripped and stepped into the shower, letting scalding water pound against my tense muscles. Steam filled the space as my thoughts circled back to Lysandra.

She’d claimed the twinsfather was deada onenight stand she knew nothing about. The lie had tasted bitter on her tongue; I could smell the deception in her sweat, see it in the way her eyes couldn’t quite meet mine.

But why lie? If the children weren’t mine, why not just tell me the truth? Unless the truth was worse somehow. Unless their father was someone whose name she couldn’t bear to speak. Someone from my pack, perhaps. Someone who’d betrayed me by touching my Luna.

My fists clenched, water sluicing down my arms as my jaw tightened painfully. The thought of Lysandra with another wolf -any wolfmade my vision bleed red at the edges. Even after five years, even after everything that had happened between

us, my wolf still considered her ours.

But maybe that was just residual possessiveness. Natural for an Alpha who’d once marked her. It didn’t have to mean

anything deeper..

I shut off the water with more force than necessary, wrapping a towel around my waist as I stepped out. In the mirror, my reflection stared backhard eyes, tight jaw, the look of a man balanced on a knife edge.

Get it together,I told my reflection. You’re an Alpha, Act like one.

When I emerged from the bathroom, Varian was still waiting, his posture rigid with anticipation. I’d thrown on a simple t- shirt and jeansno need for the usual Alpha formality in my own home.

Tell me everything,he said as I dropped into an armchair across from him.

I laid out the events of the day methodicallyfinding Lyra, her innocent chatter, the revelations about her father, and finally, my confrontation with Lysandra.

She claimed the father was dead,I concluded, my voice deliberately neutral. A onenight stand she apparently knows nothing about.

Varian’s expression remained carefully schooled. And you didn’t believe her.

Of course not. She’s never been good at lying.

So you think the twins are yours? He leaned forward slightly, watching my face.

My wolf certainly thinks so.I tapped my fingers against the leather armrest. That little girlLyrashe felt familiar somehow. And she said her brother looks nothing like Lysandra. That he resembles their father’s side.
