Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 190

The entire coffee shop fell silent. Everyone knew who he wasthe Alpha, the most powerful man in Silverblood territory. His cold gaze swept the room before landing on Jake, zeroing in on the rose and letter with laser precision.

Jake shifted uncomfortably but held his ground. Is everything okay?he asked, looking between Tristan and me.

Tristan’s voice cut through the silence like ice. Pack business. Everyone out.

The other customers didn’t need to be told twice. They gathered their belongings and filed out quickly, casting curious glances over their shoulders. Jake hesitated, clearly torn between leaving me alone with Tristan and risking the Alpha’s wrath by staying.

It’s fine,I told him quietly. Go.

Eleanor caught my eye, silently asking if I needed her to stay. I shook my head slightly. This confrontation was inevitable, and I’d rather have it without an audience.

When the last customer had left, Tristan strode forward and picked up Jake’s letter. Without breaking eye contact with me, he tore it into pieces, letting them flutter to the floor.

What do you want, Tristan?I asked, arms crossed defensively across my chest.

His lips curved into a cold smile. Didn’t take you long to find someone new.

I sighed, suddenly feeling bonetired. He’s just a customer. Why are you here?

Tristan’s expression hardened. I came to inform you that Selene will be officially taking on maternal duties for the twins.

The words hit me like a physical blow. What? They have a motherme!

A mother who lied and kept them from their father for five years,he replied, his voice devoid of emotion. Selene has volunteered to provide them with proper guidance.

Panic clawed at my throat. Tristan, please. They need me. I’m their mother.

You should have thought about that before deceiving me all these years. His eyes were glaciercold, unforgiving.

I took a deep breath, knowing what I was about to say would likely backfire, but I had to try. There’s something you should know about Selene. She’s threatening the children when you’re not around.

His eyebrows rose slightly. Of course you would say that. Trying to poison me against her just like you poisoned the children against me.

Theard it myself during our video call,I insisted, stepping closer. She told them you would hurt them if they disobeyed. She called you a monster Alpha.

Something flickered in his eyesdoubt, perhaps but it was gone so quickly I might have imagined it.

More lies,he said dismissively. Selene would never say such things.

Ask the children yourself!I pleaded, desperation making my voice crack. Orion and Lyra will tell you the truth.

Tristan’s jaw tightened, his expression hardening into the impenetrable mask I knew too well. Save your performances for your admirer.

He turned to leave, but I grabbed his arm, forcing him to look at me. Tristan, listen to me. I didn’t poison the children against you. I told them their father was a good man who couldn’t be with us. I never said a single negative word about you.

Chapter 190

For a moment, just a moment, I thought I saw something crack in his façade. Then his phone buzzed, and whatever opening i might have found closed immediately.

This discussion is over,he said, pulling his arm from my grasp. Focus on your new life here. The children are no longer your concern.

As Tristan turned to leave, something in me snapped.

Don’t you dare walk away from me,I said, my voice low but vibrating with emotion. Not when it’s our children at stake.

He paused, his back to me, shoulders tensing beneath his tailored suit jacket.

Then he slowly faced me. You’ve got thirty seconds.

I stepped closer, refusing to be intimidated. You want to punish me? Fine. Take everything from memy home, my status, my dignity. But don’t use our children as weapons.

His jaw tightened. You kept them from me for five years. Now you’re concerned about using them as weapons?

I made a mistake,I admitted, the words scraping my throat raw. But Selene is manipulating them, trying to turn them against you while pretending to be their mother.

A muscle jumped in his cheek. He took a step toward me, closing the distance between us.

And how do I know you’re not just manipulating me now?he asked, his voice dropping to a dangerous whisper.

His gaze flickered over my face, searching.

And why was that boy giving you flowers? The question caught me off guard with its abrupt shift.

I blinked. What?

The college boy. With the pathetic love letter. His eyes hardened, dropping briefly to my lips before snapping back up.

I almost laughed at the absurdity. That’s what you’re concerned about? Some harmless customer with a crush?

Tristan’s hand shot out, grabbing the counter behind me, effectively caging me between his body and the wooden surface. I refused to shrink back, though my heart hammered against my ribs like a trapped bird.

Answer the question, Lysandra.

He’s nobody,I said, chin raised defiantly. Just a customer who’s been coming in for coffee. I was about to turn him down when you stormed

in like-

Like what?he pressed, leaning closer.

Like a jealous ex, I said before I could stop myself.
