Ada was absorbed in the joy of becoming the wife of Remus Corporation’s president. Just then, Curtis walked up to Neil and whispered, “It’s time for you to go on stage for your speech, Mr. Remus.”
Neil nodded and turned to Ada. “I’ll be giving my speech. Find a place to rest in the meantime.”
“Okay.” Ada smiled sweetly and continued, “Go ahead. Don’t worry about me.”
Curtis turned to follow Neil, but Ada stopped him.
“Mr. Harrell, a moment, please.”
“What is it?”
Ada gritted her teeth when she caught sight of the impatience and disgust in Curtis’s eyes. “Someone asked about Neil’s relationship with me. What do you think he said?” she asked coldly.
“Just get straight to the point, Miss Pond. I have a lot of work to do.”
She snorted and replied disdainfully, “Neil admitted that I was his girlfriend. Maybe I’ll marry him soon. You’ll be the first person I fire if you continue to be this rude to me.”
In an effort to get close to Neil, she had previously asked Curtis for Neil’s schedule. However, Curtis had rejected her request.
Ada would definitely punish him once Neil approved of her.
Curtis smiled and nonchalantly said, “You should only say that to me after you marry Mr. Remus.”
“How dare you!” Enraged, Ada wanted to teach Curtis a lesson. Unexpectedly, he left without a care for her.
She took a deep breath and glared at Curtis. She vowed to make him kneel before her and apologize one day.
After Neil went on stage and gave his speech, he spoke to Curtis and headed straight to the lounge.
He had become more aloof following Remus Corporation’s growth over the years. He treated everyone with disinterest.
Ada failed to locate him after she looked around. Hence, she approached Curtis. “Where’s Neil?”
Curtis grew impatient from dealing with her. Besides, he did not think that Neil had feelings for her. Neil would always be absent-minded whenever he looked at her face.
