“What I want is a definite answer.”
“We’ll catch him in three days.”
Neil nodded. “Okay. Go.”
After the door closed, he picked up a document but thought of Silvia again.
However, he did not force himself to forget about her. With his eyes closed, he drowned himself in his longing for her.
He only realized how much he loved her after she was gone. He was so in love with her that he lost himself. He could not forget about her at all.
…
Neil returned to Harmony Yard at night.
He was surprised to see Jake. However, he sat nearby and daydreamed in silence.
He was beside himself when Jake said, “Visit your mom if you’re free, Neil. She’s set on divorcing me. Help me change her mind.”
Neil turned to him and calmly replied, “I think she hates me the most right now. I’ll only make things worse.”
Jake felt that he was right since Melanie would be filled with disgust whenever she mentioned Neil.
“Forget it. I’ll go home. You should spend some time with your grandma.”
A lot had happened to the Remus Family lately.
Consequently, Abalene’s health grew worse. The doctor said that she should avoid getting upset.
Once Jake was gone, Abalene and Neil ate in silence.
In the past, she would have persuaded Neil to keep him alive. But at this point, even she wanted to kill Liam.
“I failed to raise Liam well. That’s why this happened.”
Regret washed over her, but her servant was too afraid to say anything.
…
Curtis hurried into Neil’s office excitedly the next afternoon.
“Mr. Remus, we’ve caught Liam!”
Neil clenched the document in his hand and looked up at Curtis.
“Where is he?! Bring him here at once!”
