Neil rolled down the car window, and his determined face appeared before her.
“I just wanted to make sure that you got home safely. I’m leaving.”
“There’s nothing between us now. My safety is none of your concern.”
“Sil!”
Neil’s gaze turned cold, and he said, “I know you’re still upset. I promise not to meddle in your life anymore. However, there are some things I won’t back down on, and keeping you safe is one of them.”
Silvia frowned, but Neil started the engine and left before she could respond.
She was still frustrated after she went inside.
She realized that she was having second thoughts about him, which was not a good sign.
Silvia stayed up all night thinking about it and decided to agree to Ryan’s request.
This way, she could repay his favor and make Neil understand that they would not be together anymore.
Soon, news of Silvia and Ryan’s coupling spread across Ryoln City.
When Dulcie saw Ryan picking Silvia up after work, she was shocked.
“Sil, please tell me that my eyes are deceiving me! Have you gotten together with Ryan?!”
“I’ll explain everything to you in a few days,” Silvia whispered.
After she got in the car, Ryan gently asked, “What would you like to have for dinner?”
Silvia turned to him. “Mr. Anderson, isn’t this different from what we agreed? Didn’t you say that we would just pretend to be a couple?”
“Yeah, but couples often have dinner together after work, right? If we completely avoid each other, do you think people will believe we’re actually dating?”
Seeing how calm Ryan was, she wondered if she was overthinking things.
“Right now, the most important thing is to decide what to eat tonight.”
After their meal, they took a walk along the street.
As they talked, Silvia realized that they shared many interests. They both liked Vincent van Gogh’s paintings, and Ryan could provide different perspectives on them.
Time flew by, and before long, it was past 10 p.m. They were quite a distance from where they had parked, and walking back seemed impractical.
“We’ll have to take a taxi to go back home,” Ryan said apologetically.
“But what about your car?”
“I’ll get my assistant to drive it back tomorrow.”
Silvia nodded. “Okay.”
As they were about to hail a taxi, a black Maybach suddenly stopped by the road.
Neil then stepped out and walked directly toward Silvia with a cold expression.
