Liam frowned. “What are you doing?”
“Mind your own business!”
He immediately grabbed Ada’s wrist, and his eyes were full of rage. “I don’t care what you do, but if you hurt the baby, I won’t spare you!”
Ada swung his hand away before she sneered and said, “Don’t worry. This baby is very important to me. I’ll definitely give birth to it!”
They remained in a stalemate until Liam let go of her hand.
Ada went out after she had lunch and a nap.
Over in Remus Corporation, Curtis could no longer find Ada once he was done with his work. Therefore, he went to Neil’s office.
“Mr. Remus, Miss Pond came to see you earlier. Did you see her?”
When Neil heard it, he raised his head and looked at Curtis with a cold look. “Did you allow her to enter my office?”
Curtis was stunned, but he immediately said, “No. I asked her to wait for you in the lounge. Then, something happened in the Purchasing Department, so I went over there to deal with it. I’m just checking with you since I don’t see her anymore.”
Neil’s eyes were cold. “I don’t want to see her in Remus Corporation anymore. You can turn her away regardless of the reason she gives.”
“Okay, Mr. Remus.”
Curtis was afraid of angering him, so he dared not ask if Ada had told him about Liam’s whereabouts. He guessed that it was just an excuse that Ada had come up with to see Neil.
Neil had been anxious the whole afternoon. He called more than once to ask about the decorations at the venue of his proposal. It made the manager so scared that he had to check it several times.
Once Neil saw that the venue was full of champagne roses, he finally felt better. He was looking forward to tonight.
Soon, evening came, and it was time to clock out. Silvia was about to pack her stuff when she received a call from Neil.
“Sil, are you clocking out?”
“Yes. I’m almost done. You don’t have to pick me up. I’ll go over there myself.”
Ada raised her eyebrows in amusement and smiled. She sat opposite Silvia and slowly said, “Sil, I have something to tell you.”
When Silvia heard this, she instantly had her guard up. It did not look like Ada had good intentions.
“What is it?”
Ada’s smile became brighter. “Do you remember when you almost burned to death in the fire about six months ago?”
“What about it?” Silvia’s heart sank as a bad feeling rose in her heart.
“Neil claimed that a firefighter saved you at that time, but he lied to you. Someone else saved you!”
Silvia’s heart started to beat faster, and she subconsciously clenched her fists.
“What are you trying to say?”
Ada looked into her eyes and said, “I just want to tell you the truth. Actually, the person who saved you in the fire was… Chris!”
