Neil sneered and said, “Don’t waste any more time on me and Silvia. Even if I break up with her, I won’t get back with you. Remember that you’re carrying Liam’s child!”
He hung up before waiting for a reply. “Don’t tell me anything about Ada from now on. Get me a new SIM card this afternoon!” he ordered.
“Understood, Mr. Remus.”
Just as they were about to return to the company, Curtis received a call from Mr. Grenning.
“Mr. Remus, Mr. Rios wants to meet you.” Curtis covered the phone and spoke to Neil. The call was still connected.
Neil was not in a friendly mood. “Reject it.”
“He says it’s about Dr. Moon. Mr. Rios wants to learn more about your relationship with Dr. Moon.”
Neil frowned. “Didn’t you tell him that Dr. Russell was Moon when you visited the hotel?”
Curtis hurriedly explained, “I did. However, Mr. Rios met with Dr. Russell, who claimed that he was not Moon. Apparently, Moon is someone else. According to Mr. Grenning, Rios Corporation stopped targeting Remus Corporation because of Moon.”
“Ask him when and where.”
An hour later, Neil and Alan sat facing each other in one of Ryoln City’s prestigious clubs. They were in the finest VIP room.
Neil maintained his stony and imposing demeanor, while Alan wore a smile on his face. It was as if nothing had ever transpired between them.
“Mr. Remus, why didn’t you tell me about your close relationship with Dr. Moon? If I had known, I wouldn’t have acted impulsively and ordered someone to kidnap Miss Pond.”
Neil stared daggers at him. “Did Dr. Russell tell you that I was close to Moon?”
Alan nodded. “Yes, and he also mentioned that if I insisted on targeting Remus Corporation, Moon wouldn’t meet me, much less operate on Chris.”
If it were not for Chris, Alan would not have gone to such lengths to please Neil.
Neil’s expression turned even colder. Suddenly, a thought struck him, and gloom filled his face.
“Mr. Remus, what’s wrong? Why do you seem so gloomy?”
She was the only person who would confront Alan and ask him to spare Remus Corporation.
He had failed to realize her sacrifices for him and even felt jealous of her connection with Winston. When he thought of this, he wished that he could have shaken some sense into himself.
The club was not far from MY Corporation. It was just a ten-minute drive, yet it felt like such a long way to him. He wished he could stand before Silvia at that moment.
Finally, the black Maybach stopped below MY Corporation, and Neil swiftly entered the building.
When he reached the president’s office, Joe quickly stood up in surprise. “Mr. Remus, you…”
Neil did not even spare him a glance. He promptly opened the door to Silvia’s office.
Silvia was reviewing some documents. She frowned when she heard the door open. She looked up and saw Neil walking toward her.
Surprised, she coldly asked, “Why are you—”
Before she could finish her sentence, Neil pulled her into his arms.
