“Silvia, I haven’t told you what it’s about.”
Silvia pursed her lips slightly and said, “Whatever it is, I won’t be able to help. Mr. Cooper, please look for someone else.”
With her divorce from Neil, she had no plans to interact with his social circle anymore.
The two ladies then walked into the mansion. After they closed the door, Isla finally started to complain.
“David Cooper is like a Band-Aid. He’s incredibly annoying! He approached me several times today and tried to convince me to be the spokesperson for his company’s new product! Unfortunately, I can’t afford to offend him. Otherwise, I would’ve kicked him to the curb!”
When Silvia heard Isla describe David as a Band-Aid, she chuckled.
David was quite good looking, and he would always be with a new girl. He even claimed that he would never get attached to any woman. Silvia wondered how he would feel if he knew how much Isla hated him.
“Filming a commercial doesn’t take a long time. Why don’t you take the money? Consider it an additional retirement fund.”
Isla had a conflicted look. “Do you know what his company’s new product is?”
“What is it?”
“Condoms.”
Silvia spat out the water in her mouth. She stared at Isla in disbelief and said, “Is there something wrong with his brain?”
“If I wasn’t afraid of him investing in my future films again, I would’ve given him two hundred dollars to check his brain in the Psychiatric Department.”
They had dinner after they chatted for a while. Isla’s mother was a chef, so Isla was a pretty good cook. In comparison, Silvia’s cooking was only passable.
Silvia ate two plates of pasta. After she cleaned up the plates and stored them in the dishwasher, she lay down on the couch.
Isla came over and pulled her up. “Don’t lie down right after dinner. We need to go out for a walk. Let’s go.”
“Okay.”
By the time they walked out of the mansion, David had already left.
They walked along the road surrounding the mansion and returned after 8 p.m.
Ever since he moved out from Remus Mansion, he had not been sleeping well. He was not used to her absence in the morning, and he was also not used to coming home to a dark home after work.
“What is it?”
When Silvia’s indifferent voice came from the phone, Neil realized that he had called her at some point.
Not getting an answer from him, Silvia frowned. “I’m hanging up.”
Just as she was about to end the call, Neil spoke coldly.
“Didn’t you see the message that I sent you?”
After two seconds, she answered, “I saw it.”
“Why didn’t you reply?”
“I thought you sent it to the wrong person.”
