Buried by My Alpha Crowned novel Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Chapter 5

Cassian’s brow furrowed with displeasure.

Ive told you before-an Alpha’s beta doesn’t panic. What the hell is wrong with you?”

The pack’s holdings are crashing, and the media is calling you and Annabelle murderers!”

Cassian snatched the phone from Ryan, his eyes scanning rapidly.

Every news outlet was reporting that the Moonridge Pack Alpha had murdered his mate’s unborn children for his mistress, complete with damning evidence.

Looking closer, Cassian realized the “evidence” was screenshots of his private messages with Annabelle.

The truth hit him hard, and he turned sharply to his Beta.:

“Get in touch with Evelyn. Now! If she makes a statement, we can still contain this.”

“Alpha, we tried reaching the Luna at dawn, but her number’s been disconnected!”

Cassian’s voice cracked:

Then track her down! Check the pack, check everywhere!”

He yanked out his phone, firing off message after message, only to discover I’d blocked him completely.

His wolf paced restlessly, sensing this was just the opening move.

Dread clawed at his chest.

Ryan returned within minutes, practically sprinting back with a stack of documents.

‘Alpha, these were just delivered.”

Cassian grabbed them, the first document making his blood run cold: mate bond severance papers.

His hands shook.

The asset division demanded half of everything-pack lands, business holdings, territorial rights.

From her hospital bed, Annabelle shrieked:

That bitch thinks she can sever her bond and claim pack assets?!”

Cassian barely heard her.

The second document was a technology contract termination notice.

His heart dropped into his stomach.

When he’d built the pack’s business empire, it was my tech innovations that had made them billions.

I’d been the brain behind every major breakthrough, every competitive advantage.

Margaret had bitched that I was undermining Cassian’s Alpha authority, so I’d stepped back from active leadership to be the perfect Luna.

After I withdrew, the businesses hemorrhaged money, teetering on bankruptcy.

When I’d offered to return and help, he’d refused-his pride wounded by needing his mate’s expertise.

To save his ego, I’d quietly created a consulting firm, keeping the pack’s ventures afloat through contracted work.

That’s how we’d survived for years.

They’d never learned my proprietary systems, but I controlled every algorithm, every process that kept them profitable.

Chapter 3

If the mate bond severance had rattled him, the tech termination was a killing blow.

Cassian finally grasped the truth-I held his empire’s throat in my hands.

“Forget it. 111 find her myself.”

Annabelle whined: “Cassian, that psycho shoved me into thorns last night. I’m covered in cuts.”

Distracted and increasingly frantic, Cassian snapped:

“Then stay here and heal. I’ve got bigger problems.”

Before he could leave, Ryan blocked his path:

“Alpha, there’s a mob outside-reporters, protesters, angry investors. You go out there looking like this, theyll tear you apart.”
