The Heartbreak Prescription novel Chapter 963

Chapter 963

Halsey was shocked. She looked at Shaun and blurted, “Shaun? Why are you here?”

Shaun’s voice was a little hoarse. “Who else did you think it was?”

Halsey started, “I thought you were Jocelyn…”

Then she realized Shaun’s hand was still resting on her waist, even sliding down into a more private area. Her face instantly flushed bright red.

Before, when she thought it was her maid, everything felt normal. But now, with Shaun there, she felt like her skin, covered in oil, was burning up.

“Get your hands off me!” Halsey said, cheeks burning.

Shaun immediately pulled his hand back and stood up straight.

Halsey sat up quickly, trying to fix her clothes. “Why didn’t you say something when you came in? I was calling for Jocelyn!”

Shaun looked at her, watching her panic as she tried to cover herself, and pressed his lips together. “Why are you so flustered?”

Shouldn’t she be? They were alone in the room, and the atmosphere was pretty charged.

“Please knock before coming in next time. This is really rude,” Halsey said.

Shaun reached out and gently pinched her chin to make her look up. He met her shining eyes and said, “Don’t worry. I have no improper thoughts about you.”

Halsey’s body shivered slightly. He had no improper thoughts about her?

She replied, “How am I supposed to know if you’re telling the truth?”

Shaun said, “I already told you, I wouldn’t bother you. Even if you showed me your back, or stood naked right in front of me, I

wouldn’t feel a thing.”

Halsey was speechless. Any woman hearing that would be upset.

She looked at Shaun and asked, “So even if I were naked, you wouldn’t feel anything?”

Shaun nodded firmly. “Yes.”

Halsey felt angry. As she recalled Elise’s taunts earlier, her competitive spirit was burning.

Before, Shaun’s desire for her had been strong. She didn’t have to do much just being alone with him was enough. Day or

night, he wanted her.

She wondered if he had suddenly lost interest because of Elise. Had he found someone new and forgotten about her?

Halsey decided to test him. She curled her lips into a small smile. “Fine. It just so happens I’m feeling a little hot…”

As she spoke, she slowly slid one of the thin straps off her bare shoulder.

Shaun’s eyes narrowed, caught off guard by the smooth, pale skin now revealed.

Halsey looked at him. “Are you really not feeling anything for me?”

Shaun’s throat tightened, but he refused to give in. He thought he could hold it together. “I’m not.”

Halsey bit her red lip, clearly provoked. She went further.
