Chapter 96
Sophia blinked in astonishment, then suddenly burst out laughing. “You’re really bad!” she said.
I shot her a glance and replied with annoyance, How am I bad? You haven’t even seen me at my worst!”
Instead of backing off, Sophia looked even more intrigued. She boldly sat down beside me.
“Show me just how bad you can be,” she said. Her cheeks were flushed red, which only made her look even cuter.
I cleared my throat awkwardly. “Not now. I can’t be bad to you.”
She stared at me, and I felt a bit embarrassed under her gaze. “Coward!” she teased.
After making fun of me, Sophia booked a restaurant.
I drove out and made a call. Soon, I found the person I wanted to see waiting inside the private
room.
“Kieran, long time no see.”
Indeed, the person I came to see was Kieran.
Kieran scoffed. “Max, what do you want?”
He looked a bit worn out after a few days. The Zane family’s problems hadn’t been resolved, so he had obviously been under considerable stress.
“I’ve got some good news for you. Take a seat,” I said.
I smiled and motioned for him to sit down. He kept staring at me suspiciously.
This bastard had been burned by me twice before. Naturally, he was on guard.
However, that didn’t matter. People like him only cared about one thing–personal gain. As long as there was substantial benefit involved, he would stop at nothing.
“Kieran, we don’t truly hold any grudges against each other, do we?” I asked.
I wasn’t in a rush. I had plenty of time that day and wanted to talk things through with him. Since this concerned the Zenn family, I was even worried he might back down.
“True enough,” he said, with a slight scoff. “But you didn’t call me here just to discuss that, did you?”
“Of course not. I’m here to tell you something,” replied. “Camille is getting married.”
No sooner had I said this than Kieran’s expression turned ugly. Besides the benefits he’d

receive from Camille, he did like her. After all, she was a beauty.
She had a good figure and good looks. Otherwise, so many men wouldn’t have wanted to be
with her.
For Kieran, this wasn’t just about finding a pretty woman to satisfy himself. It was about helping the family survive tough times.
Seeing his face grow darker, I smiled. “Kieran, I didn’t call you here to crush your hopes with this news.”
Kieran was as dumb as a rock. The moment he heard the news, he immediately got sulky. But he couldn’t for a second figure out what I really meant.
“What do you mean then?” Kieran asked, eyeing me suspiciously.
