“Fake. Ignore it.” Tyrone shot a message back to Easton.
He honestly couldn’t be bothered to explain a word more.
Meanwhile, Easton was grinning like an idiot in the back of his rideshare, barely able to contain his amusement.
He knew it—Tyrone would never actually kick him out.
“Alright, bro, since they’re trying to stir up trouble, it’s my time to shine.” Easton messaged back, practically giddy.
But Tyrone didn’t respond.
Easton’s smile faded, his shoulders drooping.
What was his brother up to? Why wasn’t he replying?
He had no idea that at that moment, Tyrone was busy washing fruit for his wife.
Ten minutes later, Tyrone finally replied: “Delete the chat history.”
Those four words alone were enough to make Easton beam with joy.
He cheerfully wiped the conversation and sat there grinning to himself like a fool.
The driver glanced at him in the rearview mirror, amused. “Got yourself a girlfriend, kid?”
Easton shook his head quickly. “No, not at all.”
Growing up starved of affection, Easton just craved someone who cared for him.
——
Easton had barely left when Natalia arrived at Jade White’s apartment in Seaview City.
