So, the mastermind behind all this wants to replay the same old tricks from years ago.
…
By the time Tyrone got home, dinner was already getting cold.
He’d had a long day, busy putting on a show for Vincent Lawson’s father.
Stephen Lawson was wavering now—he’d rather hand over all his shares to Vincent than risk failing whatever assignment the person pulling the strings had given him.
Whoever was behind it all was becoming more mysterious by the day, and that made Tyrone increasingly uneasy.
But it wasn’t his own safety that kept him up at night—it was Alicia’s.
If the person in the shadows decided to stay hidden, the danger would never truly pass.
“Tyrone, dinner’s ready,” Alicia called out with a gentle smile, motioning for him to wash up and join them.
Natalia and Easton were already seated at the table. As soon as Tyrone walked in, Natalia fell uncharacteristically quiet, sitting prim and proper, not saying a word—almost as if she were a different person.
Alicia rolled her eyes. Two-faced, much?
“Tyrone, has it really been three or four years since we last saw each other?” Natalia piped up, trying to make conversation.
Tyrone nodded, but he could barely muster any enthusiasm. “Yeah.”
“I remember when we were kids, you always said I was cute. Maddox used to joke that I should marry you when I grew up,” Natalia said with a playful smile, but her glance at Alicia gave away her real motive.
“Oh, really? My grandfather must have had it out for you, then,” Tyrone shot back, raising an eyebrow in mock disbelief.
