Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 63

Chapter 63

Tristan’s POV

Outside the special treatment room, time seemed to crawl. My father lay inside, his wolf Consciousness fading, while I remained powerless in the hallway.

My gaze drifted across the waiting area before landing on herLysandra. She kept checking her phone, pacing a small circuit near the vending machines, lips moving in what looked like silent prayer. The same woman who’d stood in my room days ago, fire in her eyes as she told me to go to hell, now appeared genuinely distraught over my father’s condition.

It made no fucking sense.

She’s been a godsend this past week,my mother said, following my gaze to where Lysandra now stood. Coming every day, managing his medications, preparing special nutrition supplements.

The raw concern in her expression confused me. Why should she care? After the rejection ceremony, after five years apart, why would she return to help the father of a man she claimed to hate?

She brought hope back to our family,my mother continued, her voice softening. You may not approve, but your father and I do. She’s exactly the Luna this pack neededstrong, compassionate, resourceful.

I ground my teeth, refusing to acknowledge her words. They didn’t know about her betrayal, about the children she’d conceived while married to me. If they knew, they wouldn’t speak her name with

such reverence.

Hours passed. I stood by the window, watching shadows lengthen across the hospital grounds. Varian appeared at my side, his reflection materializing next to mine in the glass.

Stop staring at her. It’s obvious, Alpha.

I snapped my head toward him. What?

My Beta met my glare without flinching, one of the few who dared. Nothing. Just observing. Your eyes haven’t left her for the past hour. You’ll scare her.

I scoffed, turning back to the window. If he only knew how fearless she’d become. The Lysandra I’d married would have cowered at my approach. This new version challenged me directly, purple fire in her eyes.

Selene called again,Varian said, breaking into my thoughts. Third time today.

Chapter 64

Dr. Rylan’s eyes moved between the three of us, lingering momentarily on Lysandra before addressing us all. You can relax now. The Lunaris Essence therapy is working. His wolf is

reconnecting.

My shoulders sagged with relief. I caught Lysandra’s reaction from the corner of my eyea deep exhale, fingers unclenching. Her concern appeared genuine.

When can I see him?My mother’s voice trembled slightly.

After he’s transferred to a private roomabout an hour,Rylan explained. But there’s something you should know. He’s entered a mindmelding state. He’ll wake in three days. During this time, his wolf will reestablish its deep connection with his consciousness.

My mother’s eyes filled with tears. She released a shuddering breath, one hand pressed against her heart. Then Lysandra was there, arms wrapping around her shoulders, murmuring words of comfort against her silver hair.

The scene struck me like a physical blow. They looked like familya proper Luna comforting her predecessor. The thought formed before I could stop it, and I wrenched my gaze away, hating the painful tug in my chest.

Lysandra,Rylan said, voice warming noticeably, thank you. You saved former Alpha Fenris today.

I turned toward Rylan sharply, catching the softness in his expression as he addressed her. The memory of seeing them together in the hospital cafeteria flashed through my mindher hand on his, that easy intimacy between them.

Our eyes met briefly. His eyebrows lifted, recognition of my displeasure evident in the slight lowering of his chin before he turned and disappeared back into the treatment room.

I needed air.

Outside, I lit a cigarette, inhaling deeply as I surveyed the hospital grounds. A wolf family passed by

-a couple with twin pups between them, maybe five or six years old. The father carried one child who appeared to be crying, tears/staining the little girl’s face.

I can’t lose you, my little cub, the father said, voice breaking as they passed. You’re my blood continuation. How could I ever let you out of my life?

The raw emotion in his voice caught me off guard. Blood connectionthe most sacred bond between werewolves. The instinct to protect one’s bloodline ran deeper than pack loyalty, deeper than

My thoughts jumped unexpectedly to Lysandra’s twins. The memory of the airport encounter surged forwardthose children who’d spoken to me with such confidence.
