Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins (Lysandra) novel Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Lysandra’s POV

Steam billowed around me as 1 stepped out of the bathroom, my silk robe clinging to my stilldamp skin. The hot shower had done little to ease the strange restlessness I’d felt. My skin tingled with an uncomfortable warmth that I blamed on the water temperature.

1 froze midstep.

Tristan stood in my bedroom, my phone pressed to his ear. The sight of him in my private space sent a jolt of fury through me.

What the hell are you doing in my room?I demanded, one hand instinctively tightening the belt of my robe.

He turned slowly, those piercing grayblue eyes meeting mine with an intensity that made my skin prickle.

Little boy, I don’t need your permission to be near her,he said into my phone, his jaw tight with

irritation.

I stormed across the room, snatching the device from his hand. Give me that!

Mommy?Orion’s worried voice came through the speaker.

I’m here, baby,I said, turning my back on Tristan. My fingers absently moved to my neck, rubbing

at an invisible discomfort there.

There’s a man with you. Who is he?Oriondemanded. I could picture his little face scrunched up with protective anger.

I glanced over my shoulder at Tristan, who stood watching me with unreadable eyes. Don’t worry

about him. He’s justa stranger who answered my phone without permission.

Stranger?Tristan’s voice cut through the room like a blade. His expression darkened, something

dangerous flickering in his eyes.

I don’t talk to strangers, remember?I continued to Orion, deliberately ignoring Tristan’s reaction.

I’ll call you back in a bit, okay? Give Lyra a kiss for me.

I ended the call and turned to face the Alpha. You had no right to answer my phone. Alpha Tristan, this is the second time you’ve barged into my space. I suggest you leave. Now.

Stranger?he repeated, taking a step toward me. Is that what I am to you now? A stranger?

What would you prefer? Exhusband? Former Alpha? The man who rejected me and drove me from my home? I tossed my phone onto the bed. Take your plek.

His nostrils flared. Why did you hurt her? Each word came out clipped, barely controlled.

So that’s what this is about? Your precious Selene came crying to you?

My mockery clearly irritated him, but I noticed his focus had shifted to my lips rather than my words. That observation fueled my defiance.

If she stands in my way again, I’ll kill her,I said, voice steady despite our proximity. No one stops

me anymore.

Don’t bring her into this,he growled, advancing on me.

I stood my ground. Why not? The woman you were fucking behind my back while we were still

married.”

His hand shot out, fingers circling my wrist with bruising force. He yanked me toward him, our bodies nearly touching.

You can’t forget me, can you?he hissed. You blame Selene for everything just to get my attention again.

I shoved against his chest with my free hand. Are you fucking insane? I hate you. You disgust me.

The push did nothing; he was immovable as stone. Outside, the full moon emerged from behind a thin cloud, its light suddenly intensifying as it streamed through my window. The silvery glow washed over my face, and I winced, a strange heat blooming beneath my skin.

Damn full moon night.

Tristan’s eyes changed in an instant, bloodred rings forming around his irises. With a snarl, he

lifted me off my feet and threw me onto the plush carpet. I landed with a soft thud, my robe tearing at the shoulder, exposing more skin than I intended.

Those children,he growled, his voice deeper than normal. How could you have them outside

marriage? Have you no shame?

I scrambled backward, but he followed, looming over me like a predator. Don’t talk about my

children!

He dropped to his knees, straddling me in one fluid movement. I bucked against him, trying to throw him off. We rolled across the floor, a tangle of limbs and torn silk. My robe ripped further, baring my shoulder and thigh.

managed to flip us over, momentarily gaining the upper hand. A savage instinct took over; I sank my teeth into his shoulder, breaking skin. The taste of his blood filled my mouth, coppery and strangely intoxicating.

Tristan roared, flipping me onto my back again. His large hand found my throat, not squeezing but holding me in place. The weight of his body pressed me into the carpet.

I’wrapped my legs around his waist, using my lower body strength to try to buck him off. The movement only brought our bodies closer together, his hardness pressing against my core through

the thin fabric of my robe.

My silk robe gave way completely, torn to shreds by our violent struggle. It hung from my body in tatters, barely covering anything.

Get off me,I gasped, but my body betrayed me. A sharp, pulsing ache radiated from between my legs.
