“Thank you, but we’ve been very happy there.” I couldn’t help the pride that crept into my voice. “The children are amazing–smart, kind, and growing stronger every day.”

My face brightened. “Would you like to see them? I have photos.”

‘I’d love to. The sincerity in his voice warmed me.

I reached for my bag, pulling out my phone. The screen lit up with notifications–missed calls from Alaric and Kieran. Concern flashed through me, but I pushed it aside. They were probably just checking on me.

Rylan glanced at the screen, his expression turning thoughtful. “Is it true? The statement from Beta Kieran about your engagement?”

I looked up, meeting his gaze directly. “No.”

“No?” His surprise was genuine.

“No,” I repeated firmly.

“Then why not clarify things publicly?”

I shrugged, unlocking my phone. “I don’t need to clarify anything. I couldn’t care less what members of this pack think.”

Rylan studied me for a long moment before I handed him my phone, displaying a recent photo of the twins at their fifth birthday party. Orion stood proud beside his dinosaur cake, while Lyra beamed with her princess crown slightly askew.

“They’re beautiful,” he murmured, swiping through more images.

I showed him a photo taken shortly after their birth–tiny bundles cradled in my arms, their faces scrunched and red.

“They look like their father,” he said quietly, handing the phone back.

I looked away, slipping the device into my pocket. My teeth dug into my lower lip as emotions churned inside me. What could I possibly say to that?

Thank the Moon Goddess that Tristan hadn’t recognized himself in them. The mere thought sent chills down my spine.

“Did you know?” Rylan’s question pulled me from my thoughts. “That Tristan knows about them now?”

“We ran into him at the airport,‘ I explained, remembering the terror of that moment. “I was returning from the Moon Ring Council event.”

I frowned, suddenly suspicious. “How did you know about that?”

Rylan turned toward the window, exhaling slowly. “He came to me a few days ago, asking if you were pregnant when he left you at the hospital five years

ago.”
