Rejected Luna Returns with Secret Twins

Chapter 130

I pounded my fists against Tristan’s chest, my voice growing hoarse from yelling.

Put me down right now!I demanded for what felt like the hundredth time in the past few minutes. My hands pushed against his chest, feeling the solid wall of muscle beneath my palms. Despite myself, I couldn’t help but notice how defined his pectorals were, how firm his body felt against my hands. I stole a quick glance at his physique,

Damn him for still looking this good.

Tristan acted as if he couldn’t hear me, continuing to carry me through the forest at an infuriatingly slow pace. His face remained impassive, jaw set in that stubborn way I remembered all too well.

Could you at least walk faster?I snapped, frustration building. My assistant is waiting. I’m worried about her safety.”

When he still didn’t respond, I felt my temper flare. Tristan, put me down. If you really want to help, move fasterI’m concerned Serena might be in danger.

That finally got a reaction. He looked down at me, his eyes narrowing. And what about you?he asked. Aren’t you concerned about your own safety? Who gave you the courage to wander into these woods at night? What if something had happened to you?

I frowned, taken aback by his sudden outburst. Excuse me? Who are you to lecture me like this?I shot back. What gives you the right to tell me what to do? Besides, the most dangerous/predator in these woods right now is you.

Tristan lowered his head until his face was inches from mine. His eyes locked with mine, and I felt that familiar electric

tension crackle between us.

Are you going to be quiet,he said softly, his gaze dropping to my lips, or do I need to silence you my way?

I quickly averted my eyes, my heart hammering traitorously in my chest. Don’t push me to hurt you, Tristan. You’ll regret

it.

A mocking smile played on his lips. Oh really? How exactly do you plan to do that?

His taunt made my blood boil. How dare he? After everything he’d done to methe pain, the humiliation, the heartbreak- he still had the audacity to mock me.

I couldn’t erase the hatred I felt toward him. Images flashed through my mind: the lonely nights during my marriage, crying myself to sleep while he was nowhere to be found. The way he’d looked at me with cold indifference when I needed him most. The emptiness he’d left in my life, a void that could never be filled.

I felt my anger rise to the surface, hot and unstoppable. Without thinking, I extended my claws and wrapped my arms around his neck, making it seem like I was finally giving in and accepting his help.

Tristan’s lips curved into a smug smile, See? Now you realize only I can help you-

His words died abruptly as my claws sank into the back of his neck, just below his hairline where his upper back began. I dug them in deep, feeling a savage satisfaction as his muscles tensed beneath my touch.

I’m not the kind of woman you think I am,I whispered, a cold smile spreading across my face. I can be much more ruthless than you’ve shown me.

Tristan let out a low groan, his eyes closing briefly as he endured the pain. When he opened them again, they had darkened, showing he felt the sting of my attack,

Who are you?he asked, his voice husky with pain.
